It's your amp. unplug the rca's and that should narrow it down for you.One at a time. If it sounds like a bass drumroll, then like i said, it's the amp.

Yep. One at a time and see what it does. make sure radio is on. if you unplug both and it still does it, make sure that all connections to the amp are ok. if so, the amp is the problem.

Ive got an sony xplod 1200 watt amp thats bridgeable ive got two dual 4ohm subwoofers how do i wire this up to get the countinued bass with no cutting off

wire each sub in series inside the box, this makes them each 8 ohms, then run them parallel from the box to the amp bridged. this will give you 500 watts at 4 ohms

Check your subwoofer for resistance. It is more likely you blew a sub than a channel on the amplifier. If your subwoofer has no resistance, which can be checked using a multi-meter, then it is blown.

Coustic Car Audio 12RS Car Speaker Watts

That all depends.

I have a Sony Xplod Sub, also 12" and 4ohm, and it is a 1000w sub.

But my friend has sub that is also 4ohm and yet it is only 500w.

The ohm mean nothing when trying to figure out the wattage.

Try www.coustic.com for more info (site will not load for me)

Amplifier For Powering Sony Xplod xs-l121p5

Pump the brakes!
You need to know the RMS power rating of the sub you are powering.
Dont exceed the RMS power rating of the sub by more than 25%.
If you see a peak power rating on either the sub or the amp, ignor it, means nothing. Always compare RMS ratings.
Example: a Sony 12" Xplod sub, boasting 1200 watts, will only handle, 350 watts RMS, so the amp you choose to power the sub should be 350 watts RMS as well, and should not exceed more than 25% of the RMS power handling (487.5 watts).
Bottom line, know your RMS numbers, not Peak.
