Thanks. I could get rid off that fade function. But now the focus is not accurate. It does not focus correctly in autofocus mode. There is a slight blur even under enough lighting.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. You mean to say that while you pause the recording or you start the recording, it displays the picture in black and white. If this is the case then you might have turned ON the Fading Effect. While the fade in/fade out function is selected, it takes several seconds to display the image when you start recording images. Besides, it also takes several seconds to pause recording. Please check out this user manual to look how to enable/dis-able the fading effect--

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

To start reset the camcorder. Use both reset to default settings command on camcorder menu, and remove battery for two minutes to reset.

If the camcorder still has the problem , then the camera is defective.

The problem can be caused by a faulty capacitor that won't hold charge, and will not allow the circuit to work properly for the first few seconds.
This kind of problem will cause a device not working properly for the first few seconds from start.

In that case the camera must be fixed by a technician, taking the unit apart, testing it, and replacing faulty part (probably main controller board).

First ensure you did reset settings, and ensure that the camcorder battery is charging and holding charge. Also test camcorder with both battery and charger.

If the camcorder is faulty , call Panasonic support ringing the number listed on the owners manual, or use the following website to get a quote on repair from a third party: Repair.

In that case

HOW DO YOU BURN A DVD ON A SONY DVD RECORDER RDR

Make sure your Sony input signal is on L1 or L3 (the inputs in back of recorder) or on L2 which is for inputs for cameras(located in front).Once you get a signal, you're where you need to be. Choose your recording mode for recording speed (pull down the flap on the remote control for this button and also the input button).
Choose from between1 hour and six hours. To archive really important stuff, stick with the first 3 speeds. TV recording can be on 3, 4 or 6 hour mode.
Push the record/pause button once. This will put the recorder into the record/pause mode and then it awaits you pushing it again to start recording immediately. Just pushing record will force the machine into a 3 to five second delay before actually recording anything so you might mess up and miss the first few seconds of your input. Suggest you use a dvr-rw or dvd+rw to practice on.

When your recording is done, just push the pause again. It stops recording but allows you to add more on to the first recording without starting a new chapter if you want. Just continue to release the pause button to continue.
If you are satisfied that you are finished, then push the pause button to stop recording. Wait for the info to be written(flashing message on screen). When it stops, you may play the dvd.
Notice- since the dvd has not been FINALIZED, you may only play it back on this unit without finalizing. It will not play on other dvd players unless you finalize it first.
To finalize, look on remote for the TOOL button. Press it once. Now push DISC INFO once. Use arrow keys and enter button on remote for the following. Scroll down to FINALIZE and press enter.
Use arrow keys to scroll to OK. push the ENTER button. Finalizing should take between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.

Warning- if titles or chapters are to typed in, it must be done BEFORE finalizing. Finalizing afterwards cannot be done.
Erasing can be done in part or all if using an RW+ or RW- disc

Solid blue lines through Picture on playback mini DV PV-gs19

One possible cause is that normal recording
could not be performed because the heads were
dirty at the time of recording. Clean the heads,
and perform recording and playback again. If
normal playback can be performed, the heads are
clean. Before an important recording, be sure to
conduct a test recording to make sure that normal
recording can be performed.

≥If the heads become dirty soon after cleaning,
the problem may be the tape. If so, try another
cassette.

≥During playback, the picture or sound may be
interrupted momentarily, but this is not a
malfunction of the Camcorder. (One possible
cause is that the playback is interrupted by dirt
or dust that momentarily adheres to the heads.)

Choppy recording and playback

If the heads become dirty, “NEED HEAD
CLEANING” appears during recording. During
playback, moreover, the following symptoms
appear.
≥Mosaic-like noise appears partially or the
sound is interrupted.
≥Black or blue mosaic-like horizontal stripes
appear.

Push the reset button

let the camera sit alone for About 20 min,so that the camcorder automatically turned off. I turned it off, then back on and did not receive the reset button prompt.
if that doesn't work unplug the battery and all power and plug back in.
