There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are cased by a defrost drain line blockage. LEAKING WATER IN SIDE THE REFRIGERATOR

I assume you are talking about ice and water in the fresh food compartment. It is most likely that the defrost drain is blocked in the freezer causing the water to drain through the air vents into the fresh food area. You will most likely have to remove the rear panel in the freezer and pour hot water in the drain trough until the drain clears up and the water drains down the drain tube. You may want to place a small tub in the top shelf to collect all the water that will pour through the vents and have some towels. it can get very wet.

Fridge is leaking water from the inside, on the back wall

Your freezer drain is clogged or frozen up with ice blockage. Need to remove the freezer floor liner, usually 2-4 1/4" screws holding it in - slide it out. Next slowly pour hot water over ice build up and melt all ice. The drain is under the evaporator coils (small hole near center) this connects to a pan under the refrigerator that then evaporates on its own. I usually place a couple of bowls inside fresh food area on top shelf to catch excess water dripping through ceiling of fresh foods.

Next you will need to attach a heat probe from the heater under the freezer coils and feed it into the drain in order to prevent freezing up again. Use part #819043 heat probe or strip some #14 gauge copper wire and wrap around heater once and place down through drain. Recommend the heat probe 819043 to get it right the first time.

The freezer leaks water and the fridge is 43 degrees and full of condensation on the inside

Hi,
Most times this is a plugged defrost drain system. The defrost heater in the freezer section melts the frost and changes it to water, this water is suppose to flow down a drain system. If this drain system is restricted or plugged the water will leak inside the refrigerator. The drain system starts in the freezer section with a tray built under the evaporator coil. The water is funneled through a small hose into a cup in the top middle of the fresh food section ( not on all models, but this is the most common way ), from there, the water is directed out the back wall to a drain hose that runs down the back of the refrigerator into a condensing tray. The heat created under the fridge makes the water evaporate and disappear. Some of the cups ( in the top back of the fresh food section ) can be removed for cleaning. A turkey baster can be used to help clean out the drain system. Fill the baster with hot water and "blast" it into the drain hose to help flush it out. A piece of wire or pipe cleaner can also be pushed into the drain hoses to help clean then out. On a S x S style of fridge the drain system is in the bottom back of the freezer section and often you will have to remove the evaporator cover to access the drain hole. You can clean this out in the same manner as previously mentioned, but because of the water leaking into the freezer instead of the fresh food section you will have to remove the ice build up to clean out the drain system. For some reason Whirlpool has found a need to "hide" the drain hose inside the walls now. This makes accessing the drain hose to flush it out more difficult, no cup inside the fresh food section, no hose down the outside back wall and the only access is inside the freezer section behind the back false wall and under the evaporator coils.

Hope this works...............

Not cooling properly

Hello,

First thing- set the controls at the mid range of their settings. Next, check the coils under the fridge to see if they are clogged with dust, etc. Next, using a couple stem thermometers, determine the temps in the freezer and fresh food sections. In the fresh food section, place a tall glass of water on a shelf in the middle, put the thermometer in and let it set for awhile in the fridge. Inside the fresh food section, look for the damper opening at the top of the wall in between the two sections. Wet the back of your fingers- can you feel air blowing through the damper opening? Inside the freezer section, look at the back wall- any frost buildup there.

Hope this help.....

My refrigerator has been leaking water out the bottom for quite some time. Now it is leaking onto the top shelf and freezing. not sure what to do about it.

Sound like the defrost drain is blocked as the drain turns and leads out of the fresh food section. There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are cased by a defrost drain line blockage. Model 106-74269401 mfg date 6/05. Constant pool of water on interior top shelf leaking from freezer above. What is standard repair?

That is most likely the defrost condensate pan inside the freezer has frozen over and closed the drain opening. Once that happens then the water has no where to go but the freezer or the fresh food compartment. Below is a link to different ways of this happening. Just choose the section that resembles your refrigerators problem. The water freezing over does not always need to go to the extreme measure to prevent it. It's possibly something blocking the line between the freezer and the pan under the refrigerator. Let me know what you find, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Leaking water in refrigerator

This is a common problem that happens when the defrost condensate line becomes blocked. Sometime it will leak and freeze inside the freezer and other times it will find a place inside the fresh food compartment. I'm going to add a couple of links below for you to read and review so you can get a better idea of what is happening. On the first link you will need to scroll down a little. Let me know if this is helpful, Thanks, Sea Breeze
