Red-power(keyed), yellow-power(constant), black-ground. If you're having problems installing it, try powering it on with your'e car battery, if that works you have a blown fuse in the system.

Wiring JVC car deck

Do you have factory infinity sound. If you do you need a another harness or bypass that infinity system. Also What year is the truck. I know for a dodge ram after 02 is a canbus system. When wiring in the harness leave the blue remote wire alone do not connect from radio harness to the harness that connects to factory harness. Unless you are running to an aftermarket amp. There is a brown wire also that you should not connect leave the remote blue and brown wires alone. this is atleast on a 02 dodge 1500 or newer and 03 or newer 2500+. not sure if this will solve your issue but it fixed my buddies.

Brake lights don't work on my 2010 FXDWG and my right turn signal doesn't work either. There is a key icon on my speedo that is on in red.

Hi Ed, always check fuses and bulbs first for broken filaments. Then check the connection at the rear fender wiring harness, inspect for corroded, broken or loose pins. Use a dab of dielectric grease and repair as necessary. Check your brake relay if you have one , check your brake light switches for continuity, some models rear turn signals were single filament bulbs only, no running light. If all else fails get out your test light and start tracking the power wire from the harness connection. You could have a faulty turn signal module or a bad turn signal button/switch, remove it from the switch housing and check for continuity, check your wiring and connections from the turn signal switch to the turn signal module with a testlite. Make sure all wires are not worn or pinched and connector pins are not corroded, broken, or loose. For a free wiring diagram please visit the website below. You may also need an alarm reset. No, make sure the vehicle key is in the aux or on position. If this still doesn't work, recheck the wiring. Also, make sure you have a good ground.

I have this model of Head units. I have used crimp connects to connect the unit harness to the car harness. Hooked up my turn on wires and rca cables. Now my head unit when turned on shorts in and out and...

For starters, I want to make sure. You did purchase a wiring harness that "plugs" into your vehicle, right? If not and you are attempting to hardwire to your vehicle, STOP! You run the risk of frying your entire electrical system. If you purchased a harness you can crip the wires from your head unit to the harness and the harness plugs in. DO NOT crip wires directly. You are experiencing just a little of what can happen. However, if you did purchase the correct harness, you need to check all our crimps again. Hope this helps.

If you go to your local parts suppy you can buy full wiring harness. It tell you what the wires are and it's about 20 to 30 bucks. But then you know that it's wired right

I have a honda im trying to hard wire it directley with the pioneer harness everything is connected right except there is no wire for my illumination wire to connect to. also im getting no power to th

you do not need to connect the illumination wire that is to dim the radio when the lights are turned on. make sure you have +12v on both the red and yellow wire and ground to the black wire. the yellow should be unswitched and the red should be a switched source.

Problem no sound

If your KENWOOD unit is experiencing audio problems (NO Audio), but do have audio when TUNER is selected as the source, you may have problems with your installation.

NOTE: If using an external amplifier or the unit was installed using a separately purchased wiring harness for your specific vehicle, please check the following

If Using an External Amplifier

The P.CONT or REMOTE terminal on the external amplifier requires a “turn on” signal from the stereo. This terminal should be connected to the BLUE/WHITE P.CONT wire on the Kenwood harness and not the solid BLUE ANT.CONT wire.

If Using a Vehicle Specific Harness
The vehicle has a factory installed amplifier and requires a “turn on” signal from the stereo. Make sure that the BLUE/WHITE P.CONT wire is connected to the vehicle specific harness and NOT the sold BLUE ANT.CONT wire.

The solid BLUE ANT. CONT wire is used to trigger a power antenna ONLY when the tuner is selected as the source. Using this wire to “turn on” an external amplifier or factory installed amplifier will only allow it to work when TUNER is selected. Please refer to your instruction manual for proper installation. If you are not completely comfortable with installing the unit yourself, we recommend that you seek assistance from a professional installer.
