This usually indicates problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. - STOP: 0x000000EA (0x845F7200, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)). First make sure thats what you want to do since xp is no longer made. If you still want to go ahead you have to make sure you have the complete install and directions. You will have to remove vista first. But check the specs if you bought the computer with vista already installed you will not have the right drivers in your computer to go backwards in versions. Good luck. The reason the error comes up is that the install is trying to remove a component that is needed for your computer to operate. If you had xp and updated to vista, depending on how it was installed it would have removed the xp driver when updating.

In most cases with newer installs, the BIOS of the motherboard may be programmed to only accept Vista or Windows 7 as its operating system. There are some cases that it will not accept windows xp regardless of what you do. The BIOS would have to be re-flashed if possible with new directives to allow the other operating system. Good luck ParrotHead PC Repair

I bought lenovo G550 last week. It came with Windows Vista. I want to install Windows XP on it. I have found that lenovo has driver for windows XP so that will make my life easy :-) But when I try to...

you are most likely getting a BSOD with a stop error code of 0x0000007B which is caused by the Windows XP CD that you are using doesn't have the SATA Hard Drive controller driver needed to recognize and utilize the hard drive. If Lenovo has XP drivers for this model then they should have a SATA driver (roughly 394k) that will need to be loaded FROM A FLOPPY DISKETTE during the boot to XP. (XP Requires the driver to either be slipstreamed into the CD or loaded from a floppy diskette. Trying to load the controller driver USB or a different CD will not work)

Cant downgrade vista to Xp on HP Pavilion p6144f

This is a little confusing. What exactly are you trying to do?
Are you trying to wipe Vista off and install XP? If so, you must first reformat the hard drive and then install XP

I've installed GVRX26P512H on my pc. i used vista sp1

i would uninstall the card as blue screen errors are extremely bad for your computer if you get enuf of them your computer will basically die, or take it to a computer tech and have it fixed properly

I'm unable to install Mortal kombat 4 in Windows XP SP 2. As soon as I activated setup, it exits with the error Msg "Start Menu Error". Please help

I've been trying to solve the same problem. Here's a solution I discovered that worked for the same problem in Vista; it may work also for XP.

To install and play Mortal Kombat 4 in Vista:

Click setup.exe.
Choose installation folder (create it later).
Get error message.
Do not click "Clean up."
CTRL-SHIFT-ESC and kill setup.exe process.

Create installation folder (selected during setup).
Copy all files in DATA folder on CD to installation folder.
Rename MK4.exe to Mortal Kombat 4.exe.

Install patch (optional).

FIGHT!

You must disable the native mode for the SATA in setup mode.

***NOTE*** be sure that you have all of your drivers for the SATA and all drivers for windows xp before beginning.
