Question about Lexmark X4650 InkJet Printer

Open Question

I purchased a new Lexmark X4650 printer and am in the process of installing it on my computer and connecting to my wireless network. I have identified the correct wireless network and entered the correct WEP key but I keep getting "Connection Failed: your printer could ne be connected to your wireless network". The wi-fi light on the printer is solid green. I am stuck here.

I recently purchased a Lenovo All in One wireless computer. I've plugged in the USB cable as per instructions but my X4650 printer will still not print.

Have you installed the printer drivers? Is the printer power turned on before plugging the USB cable into the computer? You could have a bad cable. Try a different cable.

My wi fi orange light is blinking on my lexmark x4650 printer

The blinking WiFi light on your printer indicates either your printer is trying to communicate with your wireless network or your printer is not connected at all. For a quick fix, try to disconnect your printer from the power outlet. Power cycle your router and reboot your computer. Then, power on your router first, then your printer and lastly your computer. Check the WiFi light on your printer. If it goes to a solid green, that means you are connected back in your network. If not, you may reset your printer's wireless network adapter to its default settings. From the printer operator panel, press the Setup button > Network Setup > Reset Network Adapter to Default. The WiFi light on your printer will momentarily turn off then back on solid orange. Then try to run the Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility on your computer to reconfigure your printer to connect to your wireless network.
I hope this helps.

Check if your printer is still connected to the same network as your computer. Refer to this article: How to Print the Network Settings Page on X4600 Series All-In-Ones (AIOs). If you the printout, check the SSID and other network information. If printer still belongs to your network, then it could be a firewall issue. Make sure to allow all Lexmark and printer communications in the program rules/permissions for your firewall. If printer doesn't belong the same network as your computer, then you need to reset the printer's wireless network adapter and re-launch the Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility. My printer is connected to another wireless network which is not the same as my laptop how do i connect it to the right one?

I`ll guess You`ll have to connect your PC to the printer with the use of a usb cable.
Then run the Lexmark software (Lexmark printer home) or similar (don`t know what you are using?)... Go to "settings"; and choose wireless setup utility. You`ll have to manually set the SSID (the wanted wireless network) and the WIFI password for this network. Hope this will help.

I am attempting to scan a document with my X4650 without success. The copy function works with no problems. I have used the scan function to my computer on numerous previous occassions without problems.

How is your printer connected to your computer, wireless or hardwired with a USB cable? If wireless, check the status of the WiFi light on the printer (green = connected to a network, orange = not connected to a network). Try to turn off/on your printer. Doing this usually fixes minor communication issues. This article in the Lexmark website might also help resolve your scan problem: No Communications Error When Trying to Print or Scan.

When you installed your printer, you had to install the software on your PC. So go to your PC's start menu, go to Programs, select Lexmark software, select Tools and then select Wifi Configuration Utility. It will open a window which will give you step by step instruction on re-configuring your wifi settings. When you are doing this, make sure your printer is connected to your PC via the USB cable.

No wireless printer port for lexmark x4650

Your firewall for the wireless is blocking the port. Go into your firewall settings and add the port from the printer to bypass the router. What operating system do you have? It should be in Control Panel under Security Center.
Let me know.
