Question about Karcher 2500 PSI Pressure Washer

1 Answer

Where is the unloader valve on my pressure washer

I have a Karcher G2800OH that doesn't pressure up. Everybody says there's a cap on top of the pump that leads to the unloader valve. There is nothing on my pump that looks like that. I've disassembled every thing I could on the entire machine. No help. Any ideas?
Thanks, Gary

Is not necessarily a cap, but could be a screw in plug, that should be close to the hose hook-up on the pump Inside there there should be a round ball and a spring that you can tighten or loosen to adjust the unloader and if it has been used ALOT, where the ball seats there could be grooves cut in there and you might need to get a valve kit to fix it

I have a Karcher K3000 G Annovi XMV 3G30. The pressure control bar that you turn one way to increase pressure is stuck and won't turn either way. Does anyone know what could be wrong

these valves are preset at maximum pressure rating and locked with a nut inside of handle some have a cap on top increasing or tightening valve for more pressure may not be wise due to the fact that if you over tighten it may not unload causing pump failure. lose pressure is normally caused by either a worn nozzle or seals.

Pressure off and on every few seconds with my karcher 3000BH

hi there rjcomer2

here is web site for parts
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/karcher-2500-11944010-pressure-washer-parts-c-33388_33389_33973.html

sounds like you have a unloader valve problem or a crack in the pressure manifold housing between pressure outlet and unloader valve assy allowing unloader to cycle on/ off

or some dirt trapped in the unloader valve seat , make sure you have good supply of water - ie good flow from tap to pump

try cleaning unloader 1st and fitting in line tap filter

hope it helps

Lost pressure let handle go spits out 1 second of pressure then no pressure

What you are describing is an unloader valve failure. The unloader valve (also called a spill valve or safety pressure relief valve) is sticking in what is known as bypass. Your pump is able to build pressure but when the trigger is squeezed, rather than directing the flow up to the nozzle it is looping the pressure back through the pump as it does when you release the trigger. Depending on the specific brand and model you will need to either replace the unloader or lubricate it if it is a Karcher with a spill valve. If it is a Karcher there is a known issue with the following models:

K2300G1
K2400HB
K2400HH
K2401HH
K5800G
K5800G

All of these have an issue where the spill valve sticks and will need to be lubricated with Vaseline or lithium grease. You can view a guide for this process at http://www.landanorthwest.com/dms. Select Maintenance/Karcher/Pressure Washers/All/Spill valve lubrication.

Pump goes on and off continuously with the lance shut. Brief run of the pump every 2 or 3 seconds as if the pressure needs topping up. No leaks visible antwhere.

hi , the most common cause's of this fault is a deffective unloader valve or a small peice of dirt or grit caught in the pump valves , unless your quite mechanically competant i would suggest you take it back to your local Karcher service agent as to repair them your self is quite a involved process , if you want to try a repair yourself this link is quite good

How do i get the unloader valve out of a karcher pump

If you have a black cap on the top of your pump, the unloader is under that. It is called a spill valve and they sometimes can be a real pain to remove. I usually take a drill and drill a 3/32nd hole in the top of the valve, screw a long screw into the hole and use pliers on the screw to pull it out. You may have to try several times before you get it out. If you don't have a black cap on the top I would need to know the model # of your machine to help.

Clean and unloader valve on Karcher hd3500 pressure washer -intermittent pressure on and off. Cleaned inlet screen. Think unloader valve is is under pressure knob? Will cleaning help?

Hi:
Cleaning it is not enough. You need to make sure the o-rings are in good shape and grease it with a very very good waterproof grease. Here is a schematic of the pump. The unloader is parts 7 to 13 on D-2

How to clean unloader valve..

The Karcher K2400HH and G2400HH do not have an unloader valve, they have a spill valve which is located under the black cap on top of the pump.

The spill valve needs to be removed and the side walls of the hole it sits in need to be wire brushed to remove deposits. then you can put it back in and put the pump back together.

How do you clean the unloader valve on a power washer pump?

The unloader valve usually is replaced. I dont know if you can get o-rings for it. But if you want to take it apart, there will be a crown or cap style nut just below the spring. Unscrew it completely and you will be able to remove the spool. There is just a series of o-rings on it.
