Insert the device and restart the computer. Does it shows a "removable disk" icon in My computer? If it does, go to the properties and click unblock, may it's block. If that doesn't work, then just reformat.

What is the password for the new kingston USB DT109?

It is true that locking mobile storage devices, such as USB drives, with Imation Lock is an excellent way to protect your data.

However, using Imation Lock with a Kingston USB drive can create problems.

Learn how to unlock your Kingston USB drive so you can use it once again.

Ensure that your Kingston USB drive has been removed from your computer's USB port.

Start the Imation Lock software by double clicking the Imation Lock.

Plug in the Kingston USB into a USB port immediately after the "Please Insert the Device or Run This Utility as Privileged User" message appears.

Access your Kingston USB drive by clicking Start > Computer.

Double click on the device.

Start the Imation Lock software again by double clicking the Imation Lock.

Disable the password protection by clicking the open lock icon.

If you have password protected a USB drive or partition on your computer and have since forgotten the password, you will need to completely erase the drive.

Erasing and reformatting the drive will remove any password protection, software and data on the drive preventing you from accessing the drive.

The process is simple using Window's Disk Management utility.

Log into the computer as the administrator.

Open the Windows Start menu, select "Run," type "Compmgmt.msc" and click "OK." In Windows Vista and Windows 7, simply type the command into the "Search" field.

Select "Disk Management."

Locate the password-protected drive.

Right-click it and select "Delete." Confirm the action.

The drive will be erased and become unallocated free space.

Hope this helps.

My usb imation 4GB PB1 is not format

1.) Plug it into a computer.

2.) On the computer, go to Start, then Control Panel.

3.) When the Control Panel opens, go to Administrative Tools, then Computer Management.

4.) On the left-side panel of the new window, click on Disk Management. It will take a moment to load something in the middle panel.

5.) In the bottom portion of the middle panel, scroll down until you find the Defender. Right-click on it, then select "Format" from the list.

6.) A small window will appear. Where it says "Volume label," type in what you would like to name the device. For the file system, select "NTFS" from the pull-down menu. Leave the "Allocation unit size" as default. Then click the "OK" button.

7.) It will take a moment, but then it should be formatted for you.

I have an imation 4GB nano usb, which just stopped working and i cannot format it because it's write protected.

If you plug it in and it shows up, right click on it from "my computer" (windows) go to properties and you should be able to uncheck the "read only" box. click apply and you should be able to format it... I think.

4G Usb Imation Pen Drive has stopped being picked by any PC

there are two reason for ur problem
a) when windows XP fails to allocate a drive letter to your portable drive(pen drive)
b)some other technical faults in your pendrive
to solve ur problem follow these steps below

Right click on My computer icon->Select manage->Select Computer management->Select Disk Management under the storage section

-> In the right side will show you all of the current drives and partitions on your drive.

If you don’t know which is your pendrive, don’t worry, just find the drive you are looking for in the graphs at the bottom. They are usually named Disk 0, Disk 1, CD-ROM, CD-ROM1, etc.

If you’re looking for a USB flash drive, you’ll see the word “Removable” underneath Disk X -> Now right click on the icon -> Select Change drive letter and paths -> Assign a new Drive letter-> click Ok.

Now your pen drive will be detected in the computer.

there is an another way to solve ur problem

After plugging in the device. Go to device manager (In run type "devmgmt.msc") In Device manager go to "Universal serial bus controllers" It should list the storage devices that you have connected to your PC. Right click and then click "Uninstall. Remove the USB drive and restart your system.
Try connecting the device again, i think this should solve the problem.
