Question about Mitsubishi WT-42313 42" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I have had my TV for 4yrs and all of a sudden the screen has turned to a red blurr and there is a red vertical line on the left side of the screen. The redness has created red ghost images. If I turn the TV off for awhile it returns to normal, but only last about 5 mins and then it turns red again. What should I do?
I'm very good with electronics and could do the soldering myself but i was wondering, do you have the instructions for the dis-assembly and where on the board the chips are? Also i was told by a local repair guy that i would need some kind of alignment codes. Does anyone know anything about that?

This is a failure for the convergence amps.. Replace both STK392-110 amps using STK392-150's instead for greater reliability and then re-converge..
If you're taking this to a shop to have it done it's not that expensive of a repair - but make sure you get your estimate in writing and make sure you relate to the tech that you want the 150's instead of the 110's...
Have a great day!
