Verify that water is getting to the valve and verify that 110 volts is getting to the valve. If either one is missing then you know what the problem is. If you have both then replace the valve.

My dish washer wont fill with water

there is a float, usually at front left side inside dishwasher, that may be stuck..possibly an utility holding it up, or the fill valve is stuck. When dishwasher calls for water, it fills until this float rises to proper level and shuts the valve off at proper level. If it sticks, water will shut off at improper level.

No water

Remove the water line under the dishwasher when removed clean out the dishwasher side of the connection it has a screen in there it can be clogged. If it is not clogged however it could be the valve that the line form under the sink connects to under the dish washer water supply connects there and is controlled by electric on and off you can use an Ohm meter to check this out. Please do not forget to rate my solution and leave testimonial. If power is not going to the water shut off valve the valve is not the problem it is either the door lock switch or the wash cycle timer. Thanks

I have a buamatic bdw45.1 an it will not start taking in water and then comes up with error code e1

Ok first check under the sink make sure the supply valve is on if so there are a couple things that it could be 1 the wash timer, 2 the electronic water shut off valve which is located under the machine which supplies the washer with water check it for voltage and resistance on the coils to see if it is opening and operating proper. 3 check to see that the float in the bottom of the tub is not stuck up and that it is able to fall back down easily when raised and released

Not enough water coming into dishwasher. How do you know if it is the water valve or float? Water valve passes continuity test

If not enough. take apart the source hose and the inlet valve and look for restrictions..Machines now days use less water and the inlet of water is timed and not controlled by the float switch, soooo restricted water means you have less water.

I would disconnect the hose at the inlet valve, put it in a bucket and test it's flow. Sometimes the rubber washer deteriorates in the shut off valve, under the sink, for the dishwasher.... But both the hose and the inlet valve to the machine can have screens that plug up...

There is no water going into the dishwasher.

The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. First Check to see if the valve is getting water. Make sure it’s not clogged. There is a screen on the inside of the valve, this sometimes gets clogged up with debris. Check to see if you get power to valve when unit is put into operation may take a couple minutes to start a fill. If you have power and it’s not clogged up replace the valve .If you have no power to the water inlet valve check float switch. This can be done by checking the continuity. There is a video of this at this will walk you checking the water inlet valve and the float switch. It may be a different model but the testing procedure will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations for most models.

Washer wont fill enough water

Washers have a (vacum pipe) that feeds a micro switch. The air pressure in the vacume pipe caused by the water filling the washer activates a vacum switch when the correct amount of water has entered the machiene. This vacum pipe could be partly blocked or the vacume pressure switch contacts burnt of faulty. This can be tested by physicaly blowing air by mouth into the pipe and you should hear the switch click.

Water does not enter dishwasher during wash cycle

Make sure the under-sink valve is turned on. Then suspect the water solenoid valve under the front may have an open coil or stuck shut valve.

Dish washer not filling with water when put on

There are a few things that can cause this problem, it could be a defective water inlet valve, it's usually located behind the lower kick plate on the left or right hand side of the dishwasher, When the washing cycle is started it sends voltage to the water inlet valve to open which allows water to enter the machine, or it could be a faulty float switch, when water enters the machine the float switch raises up which signals the water inlet valve to shut off, the float switch is located inside the dishwasher at the bottom, you can check the float switch by raising it up and down to see if it's stuck in the up position. Good luck.

Whirlpool dishwasher will not fill with water

turn the valves to the left if there the screw in type or parraell if the quick open type the first thing a dishwasher does when you start it is drain for a few minutes then stops then fills with hot water run the water as hot at the sink as you can before starting the washer there is a float in the tub that can shut the water valve off if its not seated on the safety switch after the drain at the start of cycles stops then you should hear the water valve open and start the fill let me know and we will go from there

Water will not go in dishwasher

first make sure your water supply had not been shut off under check the float switch inside the tub., In the front cornerof the dish washer floor (either left or right depending on model)when you open the door. Grab the float and lift slightly up it should move freely up and down, and although pretty faint you should hear a switch "click" as you doit. try it now!!!, if not id focus on bad water valve
