Question about Samsung Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a 4 year old Samsung DLP TV Model # HLP5063WXXAA. My owners manual suggested I try replacing the bulb first, then the Ballast assembly based on the lights that are flashing on the TV(Timer - Lamp and Stand-by/Temp), however that didn't work, and the parts checked out OK. It seems to make like a whirling sound like something is trying to start running, but just isn't able to. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your reply. I went online to find a color wheel for my model HLP5063wxxaa, and all it has is a color wheel for the hlp5063w. No such part exists for the "xxaa" suffix. Is it the same thing? All cables and fan seem to be securely connected and working properly. Thanks again

Again, thankyou very much. While waiting for reply I did research and found it online. JB

Technician was prompt and precise. Within two posts, I was able to get my problem solved saving me thousands in what would have been replacement costs vs repairing my item. Thank you very much. I will use this service again, it was well worth the money.

It seems to make like a whirling sound .this sound comes if the connections are not connected proper.if they are loose .or the another reason the colour wheel is faulty or the wheel is moved from its position.if the wheel is old its the wheel get it replaced.this will solve. thanks. please keep updated.please do rate the solution if helped.thank you for using fixya.

My Samsung DLP model HL-P6163W keeps turning on and off and now lights are flashing. We replaced the color wheel last year and about two years ago the lamp.

could still be the lamp but it could also be the Ballast for the lamp has failed. I've replaced a lot of Ballasts on DLP machines.

Have a 42 inch dlp samsung the tv is starting to turn it self off random. after being on for a long period of time

We have had the same problem with our 42" Samsung DLP - only two years old! We searched all over the internet for a list of ways to fix it. I found several things can help, including a switch that pops to the wrong position, cleaning the fan, etc. I put all the information together in a how-to format because it was so frustrating to go all over the internet looking for ideas on how to fix it.

Samsung DLP TV won't turn on

This sounds to me like one of two possibilities. First, check your ballast. If you're going through bulbs faster than you think you ought to be, you may have a ballast that is overloading. Its the 3" x 8" circuit board that connects directly to the bulb. They are plentiful and often cheap. Thats what I'd try first. If that doesnt' do it, I would invest in a new power supply board. That the board that the tv power cable hooks directly in to. This should give you a start, Comment back if you still need further help. Good luck.

50? Samsung DLP TV Model #HLR-5067W

Did you use an original replacement lamp or an aftermarket replacement? From the price you give, it sounds like an aftermarket lamp, which are notoriously buggy and the problem may be with the lamp. If not, the lamp driver is your next likely culprit. It is also called a lamp power supply or lamp ballast.
