U have to use one stick of 512 or two sticks of 256. Motherboard not likely to recognize sticks installed with different capacities.

The reason it won't work with PC2700 ram is because it isn't supposed to. PC2100 is the fastest ram it can use.

I had just one memory module on this motherboard which was kingston ddr, 256mb, pc2100. Then i upgraded my mobo with one stick of pc3200 ddr ram, and it keeps restarting and sometimes it just turns off...

PC 3200 is not supported by this motherboard. It will cause problems. You need to use PC2100 RAM.

RAM Slot does not recognize more than 512MB ( 184 )

Consider updating your motherboard bios.

Also make sure that your memory is correct for this system:

- Max. capacity of system memory: 2GB DDR or 2GB SDRAM
- DDR x 2, DDR266/200 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- SDRAM x 2, PC133/100 non-ECC, un-buffered memory

Upgrade RAM in a Latitude D600. one bay seems to fail

The memory bay is a part of the motherboard. Try each stick in each bay to make sure that the problem is the motherboard itself. Sometimes memory is incompatible with a particular laptop. Sometimes there is a maximum allowable memory. The maximum for your PC is 2 GB.

Can I put a 4x/8x AGP card on this motherboard? Also can I upgrade the memory to 1 Gig of PC2100 SDram Non-ecc unbuffered?

The AGP (graphics port) only takes 4x on this motherboard, you can upgrade the memory as far as 2 gig, so yes you can upgrade the memory to 1 gig pc2100.

Does this motherboard support ddr400

Yes, this does support ddr400, there are two memotry sockets on the board they will hold 1 gig each you could try a 2gig stick in each but according to the spec on the board it only takes upto 2gigs of ram.

Memory upgrade

Hi there.
The best memory for that motherboard is DDR SDRAM, the supported ram speed is 266 MHz • 200 MHz(maximum 2BG, 1BG in each slot)
Kingston or corsair memory running at 266MHz is my recommendation to you. Try not to buy used memory as it may not work!!

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!
