Yes... thank you very much ....this method is really working but it takes more time to first understand the solution. I had to try it few times. So I am relly happy now. I got it working even without the so called Service Manual.

I have error message E 8 What do I do?

Hi

Error E8 means waste ink absorber full. To clear this error you'll first need to clean the waste ink absorber. It is located on the right side when you'll open the front cover.

Please turn off the printer and unplug it before performing any operation. After opening the front cover use a paper towel to absorb off the excess ink on waste ink absorber. Wait for 2 minutes before plugging back the printer.

Please get back to me if you have any issues in performing this.

Receive message 345 and alarm which prevents operation.

Other Canon models "may" be repaired with these instructions also, for example MP370, MP390, etc. Try with your own risk.

Symptoms:
-Grinding noise (very loud)
-Flashes error code ##345

Error code ##345 = "BJ cartridge head cleaning error" -reasons for this are:
-Foreign material or dried ink in head cleaning unit (also known as "purge unit") , or waste ink pump jammed up. Make sure waste ink pump rotates freely, after cleaning. Clean the waste pump-hose too! Waste ink pump is located under head cleaning system.

Short solution:
1.Take apart and wash the ink clogged mechanical parts. Use hot water.
2. Reset waste ink counter

purge unit: HM1-0723-000

see more parts: http://www.e-parts.fr/pictures/uploaded/files/MP_360_370.pdf

I hope this is useful

Erro code on printer

Error code means
E27 = Waste ink absorber full or platen waste ink absorber full

Yes, you can do this yourself.

YOu can do a search on here for the error code, there are instructions on how to reset the error and clean the absorber..

Or you can do a search for the "SERVICE" manual for your printer and order it, then follow it's instructions to clean the pads and reset the error.

Let me know if you can't find the solution on here, and I will post it for you.

All lights flashing on the epson stylus photo 870. Printer not working.

Unfortunately, the Russian software does not work on a Mac, and it crashes at launch when installed in WZ98 under Virtual PC. However, I found this on another site, and it worked immediately:

The sequence to reset the waste ink counter is as follows:

WASTE INK ROM RESET ONLY 870, 1270

1. Turn the printer off using the power button on the panel of the printer.
2. Disconnect the interface cable at the back of the printer.
3. Hold down the "LOAD/EJECT" and "CLEANING" buttons simultaneously.
4. Turn the printer on. Release all buttons as soon as paper out light flashes.
5. Quickly press (within 3 seconds while PAPER OUT light is flashing) the "CLEANING" button for 10 seconds.
6. Release the button and the printer will initialize.
7. Once initialization is complete, turn the printer off.
8. Reconnect the interface cable.
9. Turn the printer on

Works great, no muss...no fuss!

Canon MP160 Printer not working

Probably waste ink adsorber full
Try:

a) turn off the printer
b) press and hold <resume(red triangle in a circle button)> + press and hold <power> -> result green led
c) release only <resume>
d) do not release <power> press 2 times <resume> and release both
e) 4 times press <resume>
f) 1 time press <power>
g) again <power> - > printer turned off

You have reseted the waste ink adsorber counter
But if the adsorber is really full (15-30% probability) -> then you must disassemble the printer and replace this adsorber. If you will not find another adsorber you may wash and dry it very very good?? (bad english sorry please) and dry
