Question about Car Audio & Video

I'm installing a pioneer head unit in a 1999 dodge durango. We installed new speakers that work with the factory head unit, however when we plug the pioneer unit in we have power to it and everything runs but we're getting no sound

Sounds like the outputs are wired different for your factory unit to your new one.

go to a radio shack or like store and get a adapter plug to match your new unit , that way you don"t have to cut no wires and its a piece of cake to just plug in this thing will plug in to the dodge plug and the other end plugs in to your new unit

Dodge infinity

The Infinity system includes a CD/cassette receiver or a CD receiver in the dash, and a complement of 7 speakers: 3-1/2" speakers in the dash (left, right), a 2-1/2" center dash speaker, two 6"x9" woofers in the front doors, and two 5-1/4" speakers in the rear doors. You'll have to remove a section of the dash to install a new stereo, as you do with the non-Infinity system. You'll need a special adapter to connect a new car stereo to the Infinity factory amp http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120CHTO02/Axxess-CHTO-02-Factory-Integration-Adapter.html?tp=3486

Dodge durango stereo

The stock amp would be useless if you are going to uprate the rest of your system. Because you will play it louder. You could use it to drive the front door speakers, but I would remove it and fit an upgraded item that will actually improve your system. If you are going to install a new head unit then there is a very real chance that the amp in the new head unit will be better than the one installed by the manufacturer.

Rear speakers don't work after new head unit

There could be several reasons why the head unit for your car does not work. The most likely issue is that the head unit is not compatible with your stereo system. You can consult your vehicle owner's manual for speaker issues.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do i remove the factory stereo out of my 2002 dodge durango and replace it with an aftermarket stereo and also getting the speaker to work if they are amped

take the plastic thing off that goes all the way around the guages or w.e. then ther should b 2 bolts on the front of the stereo take them out. take out the radio n unconnect wires. then get a wire kit n plug it in and hook it up. if the speakers dont work either get new ones or rewire them using all different wires.

HOW TO INSTALL AMP INTO A FACTORY RADIO IN DODGE DURANGO 2002

You can buy adaptor plugs that allow a simple hook up at most car stereo places.  However, when you increase the power going to the speakers you also have to replace the speakers to handle the higher power or you'll toast them.

With the Infinity system you need to power up the factory amplifiers. This is done with the blue with a white stripe wire from the deck to the amp turn on lead from the factory harness. Not sure the color of the wire but that's most certainly your problem. If you have a factory to aftermarket wiring adapter it'll be the blue wire.

How do you connect a pioneer d2 navigation system to a 2006 ford expedition entertainment system

You need to identify the four wires that carry the DVD audio in the factory plug, and re-wire them to RCA plugs that can be used with the Auxiliary input RCA jacks on your Pioneer unit. The four wires should be: Left (+) light green Left (-) white Right (+) red Right (-) black The easiest way is to purchase some inexpensive RCA cables (or better yet, speaker wire with RCA ends). Cut the cables and wire the center pin conductor wires to the (+) audio wires in the stock plugs, and connect the outer shield conductors to the (-) wires. Then connect the RCA plugs to your head unit's auxiliary input jacks.
