First of all, have you installed the driver software correctly. Reinstall if you think this to be the case. Second, if you have a memory card in your phone then sending files to your phone is really simple. Somewhere in phone settings is usb settings or connection settings. Select 'mass storage' and your phone then acts as a memory card reader and you can access you memory card directly and just drag and drop files onto the card.
