Question about Pioneer DV-F07 DVD Player

1 Answer

Door won't open and turntable does not turn

Brand new unit. Neither the door nor the turntable functions. The internal blue light simply blinks. The unit acts as if a locking pin is preventing operation but there is none.

Re: Door won't open and turntable does not turn

Unfortunately you may have to reset the unit. This will cause you to lose everything saved in memory so make sure its not just a DVD stuck in the mechanism. To reset to factory default turn unit off then press and hold Stop and press Standby/On

GO VIDEO model 1030....VCR works fine...DVD..nothing happens...door won't even open?

Combo units have this essential flaw--if one half fails you are usually done especially if the DVD side fails.

If Door does not open either a disc is jammed inside the mechanism or the mechanism is out of alignment or damaged.

Good argument against buying these units--DVD individual parts are rarely sold--only (if available) would be the entire DVD unit itself--not cost effective to repair.

DVD players are now real cheap (see some for as little as $20) so if not a simple jammed disc or something like that buy a DVD player.

Door doesn't open on Akai RW 120 video recorder

Your DVD/CD player where the disc gets stuck inside of the unit. This could be as described earlier, but there’s also what’s called a drawer/disc tray opener and closer mechanism to contend with. On many models, old and new alike, there’s a small belt that goes bad and won’t let the tray open. You can usually put your ear very close to the front of the unit and, if this is happening, hear the motor spinning when you press the eject button. Another cause is the nylon gears, which can get jammed up with dirt and dust. Also, in other cases, you could have a motor problem, or the driver IC could be at fault. If you suspect that the motor is at fault, simply measure the voltage on the tray motor while pressing on the eject button. If the voltage comes up between 6 to 12 volts, depending on the manufacturer, then the motor needs to be replaced.

Sony RDR-GX360 won't respond to any buttons on unit or remote. Only function that works is power button. Disk tray won't even open.

Try unplug, replug the unit back like about an hour later for the unit for resetting itself back to factory setting. If getting the same result the unit might have a shorted motor drive for the disc tray.Or shorted control panel on the unit itself.Well, this thing a basic DVD player only wright? If u can tries take it aparts and check out tries to repair it ur self that great. If u tries the shops, not worth it.Trash it.These basic DVD player only are very cheap now.U can get one brand new like $40 dollars.

I have a LG DVD/VCR Recorder RC 897T. Some times when I turn the unit on the DVD door will open and not close. I must push the DVD Door closing function button many time before the door stays closed and I...

It sounds like you need a new load belt. Installing the belt is a complicated process, not impossible, but if you have not done it before it could be daunting.

If you want to try it you will need to remove the cover. Take out the screws on the rear and any located on the sides. Remove the cover. Now you need to disconnect any wires attached to the DVD. Mark them first for easy assembly. Remove the screws holding the unit to the base and any other mounting screws. Remove the DVD and take the screws out of the sides to remove the cover.

From here it will be something which you will have to determine as every unit is different. You will probably have to remove the load assembly. This is the tricky part. Reassembly will require making sure the timing is correct.

If this seems like more than you need to deal with you may want to buy a new unit as they are not that expensive today. Another solution would be to push the door shut manually until the belt finally gives out completely.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Great ratings will keep the experts helping to solve everyone's problems. Thank you.

DVD unit door does not open

Check you owners manual for the emergency door release function and use it to open the door. usually thisis a small pin heole to release the mechanism, it could also be a slot under the unit. If this does not work , then take off the top cover of you unit and check the dvd carriage for possible dirt and obstructions, that are preventing the dvd drawer from working properly.ou can have a broken belt or some other out of alignment problems. While the unit is open you should clean out the dust and debris with a small brush and compressed air cleaning the unit . This will help in the unit over all operation. Hope this helps you with your problem.

Can't load disc

as there is a small gears on both the sides of the door which gets a command to spin when you press the eject button as that gears are either worn out or got craked internally or are getting blocked due to any dust collected in between .if cracked or worn out replacement is necessary.but if got blocked due to dust particles just will have to open the unit by removing the screws from its top and back body and then cleaning the gears which will be easily seen internally.
