The f1 problem is a losing battle. If the oven is otherwise working fine, save your money and just disconnect (ie, with wire snips) the buzzer alarm inside the controller. You'll still be seeing f1 most of the time when you are not using the oven, but so what? I performed this "fix" several years ago and haven't regretted it.

You have 2 choices.
Replace the electronic control(clock).
Or, replace the range.(stove).

I'm getting a constant beeping sound and a F1

The F1 error code means that the computer thinks a button on the touchpad is stuck. Sometimes this can be resolved by making sure the touchpad connector fits tight into the control board. The F1 code can be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF. If it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced

I have a magic chef range. I ran the self cleaning on the range. Now when trying to use the oven I get a F1 and a F3 code. I unplugged it for a while to reset and still have the same problem.

F1 Defective touch pad or clock (ERC) Replace touch pad or clock (ERC). Touch pad is a more common problem. Refer to F1 test at the top of this page for more information. F3 or F4 Shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD) Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Old Magic Chef wall oven (model 9875-5XRB), constantly beeps and displays the F1 error code. I have replaced the touch pad once before. Is that the only solution?

Does anyone know the answer? This was posted in October 2010! I ran the self clean too about a week ago. But we had a bunch of power outages last night. Today my oven has taken to beeping and flashing the F1 code. It is almost the same Model number. they wrote 9875XRB (not 5XRB) ...

My oven will not stop beeping F 1. It's a Magic Chef wall oven. Electric

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F1 means failed thermistor/transistor in control. To resolve this issue you'll have to replace the Electronic range control (ERC). Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

We have a Magic Chef glass top electric oven and the past few nights it has been beeping and showing a F-1 on stove top area

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. F1 error indicates that the touchpad membrane is defective. To resolve this issue you’ll have to disconnect the ribbon strip: after disconnecting if there is no fault code then the membrane should be replaced, if the fault code still appears then the control board should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Magic Chef Oven

An F1 usually suggest a defective touch pad (The keys get stuck sometimes because long use or "over pressing" or poking it with things like knives and such). If its a unit with seperate touch pad and clock (controller) changing the touch would be enough othewise the whole controller has to be replaced. You did not give a model number so not able to give an exact price. But it should be in the region of $120 - 230 depending on the model you have
