Generally they freeze up for two reasons. very low humidity or the temperature in the room is too cool
for low humidity it's best to cycle the dehumifier (so it goes off occasionally) using the control for it.
for temperature you may have to use a heater or warm up the room in some fashion.
most likely the reasons for it starting to do that is a season change of low humidity/cooler weather.
