Question about Zenith E44W46LCD 44" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
The power light blinks then after about 10 seconds there is a short buzz sound (sounds like its from the lamp area). Picture used to come on at this time. But now is buzzes the green light continues blinking and buzzes again. This happens 3 times then the Indicator light (middle light) blinks red for about 5 seconds the the power indicator goes back to orange (standby mode / off).
Tv has been having this problem off and on. But usually after sitting a day or few hours it will come on. Now it doesn't come on at all.
No dust on fan (cleaned filter). And lamp cover switch seems to be engaged. Don't know anything about TV's but if this is a bad lamp and it's not too hard to change I'd give it a try.
Any advice from this knowledge base would be appreciated.
TV is 2 years old.
I had the same problem with my TV. I called the Zenith support line and found out my model (E44W46LCD) had a manufacturer's defect and Zenith said they would be taking care of it. I am in the process of waiting for them to let me know how, but they took all of my info and said they would be responsible for fixing it.

The buzzing is the ballast for the lamp trying to light the bulb. From what you've described it is a lamp failure. It's not that hard to change but you'll have to obtain a new lamp first. You can try and buy it from LG (800-243-0000) but I'm not sure if they'll sell to a consumer. Then you have to reset the lamp timer after you replace it. Hold the mute on the remote and the enter button on the tv at the same time for about 8 seconds and a screen will come up asking if you want to reset the timer. Just follow what it says to reset it.
