Question about Kenwood KDC-225MR 200W Car/Marine SIRIUS Ready CD ReceiverKDC-225MR

Open Question

Kdc-225MR stuck on standby display. This unit came installed in our hot tub. Thats probably the problem there but here goes nothing. It just stopped working one day. There seems to be power going to the unit but the face plate might be pooched. There is a red light blinking on the unit itself where you attach the face plate. I found when I put the face plate on, it doesn't light up at all. I blew on the connections on the back of the face plate before attaching it and the lights came on and the standby message is on the display but that is all I get. I can press every button and nothing with change it.

PDF Manual at the link below where Page 29 details how to remove the unit..

The only part I find strange is the reference to the M4x8 screw which I wouldn't expect to be fitted as you wouldn't have access.

You may need to purchase are the PC5-106 removal tools as found at the link below.

If you require any further assistance then please just ask.

I purchased a Catalina Hot Tub that has a KDC-MP228 installed. The radio works however the CD player does count, recognizing the disc however there is no audio coming from the pop up speakers located on...

It sounds like the stereo has got some faulty circuitry internally. You'll need to replace the unit to be able to listen to CDs in your hot tub. you may want to look into getting a marine radio as a replacement. I'm sure this will be more suited to this application and is probably the kind that should have come with the tub in the first place. I hope this helps and good luck!

Help! My CD is stuck and receiver will not power up!

It sounds like the head unit is going bad. If the CD is not that important to you dont worry about it. Also you may want to check the fuses behind the head unit. Also make sure the 12 V+ Memory backup, ground, and Ignition Wires are hooked up correctly. Well, the ignition probably is, but you never know.
I hope this is helpful!
