Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Just got the phone

I'm having a horrible time setting this phone. Voice prompts for "go to", for instance. Saying 'calendar' takes you there and then, into the twilight zone? The verizon user guide is ridiculous. Is there a real user manual somewhere? Otherwise I think I'll end up asking the gurus all weekend long. Not. I'd rather return the phone.
Thanks. Bella

Calendars have disappeared

The likely cause of this problem is that you're synchronizing your iPhone Calendar with iCloud or another online calendar service and your iPhone is set to sync only recent events. This option can be found underMail, Contacts, Calendars in your iPhone Settings app. The default setting is one month, however you can tap on this option and choose from either two weeks, one month, three months or six months or simply choose All Events to sync everything in your calendar.

New events created in the iPhone Calendar outside of this time frame are still saved and synchronized to your online calendar (e.g. iCloud), but once the online calendar has been updated, they are removed from the local iPhone Calendar; hence these events appear to vanish shortly after you've created them. Items you have created on these older dates will actually have been saved in the cloud and you would likely be able to see them on a desktop computer; iCal for Mac, for example, automatically synchronizes all events from iCloud to your desktop calendar, regardless of the setting on your iPhone. Further, if you're using iCloud you can log onto from any web browser and you should see these events in your Calendar there as well. In fact, if you adjust the sync setting above to a longer time frame-or All Events-all of these "lost" events should automatically be synced back down from the cloud and reappear; you'll likely even see all of the instances of events that you tried to create multiple times.
Ultimately, unless you have a very large calendar going back several years, it's probably best to just set your sync events preference to All Events, which will ensure that your entire calendar is available on your device and avoid any future confusion with vanishing events.

Samsung Intensity: How to avoid the voice recognition prompt

The Samsung Intensity has many nice features. It comes equipped with voice recognition software, which many people like. However, for others it is merely annoying. If you keep your phone in your pocket or purse, you might hear a muffled voice saying "Please say a command" from time to time as the phone's voice recognition button is bumped.

Fortunately, you can disable this voice prompt (if you want to) with just a few simple steps:

1. Press the voice recognition button on the upper right hand side of the phone.
2. Press the right options button to go to the Settings.
3. Select Prompts (#5).
4. Select Mode (#1).
5. Select Tones Only (the last choice).
6. Hit OK to save the change.

Now, when you accidentally bump that button, you'll just hear a short single tone, rather than the voice prompt.

If you want to reduce the volume for the voice recognition (either for the voice prompt or for the tone) that can be done easily as well. Follow the steps above to get to the Prompts menu, and select Audio playback (choice #2). Highlight the choice for Earpiece, and hit OK to save your choice.

The voice recognition function will now use the earpiece to play any sounds, rather than the speakerphone, so whether you set it for a voice prompt or a tone, the sound will be much quieter and hopefully you won't even notice it.

You can also lock the phone when you're not using it, which will disable the voice recognition button so you don't have to worry about bumping it. To lock your phone, just hold down the zero (0) key for two seconds. You'll see a message on the screen that the phone is now locked.

How can I print calendar from apple iphone 3G

I think you can't. Search if your printer has an app for printing (HP for instance) and download it. Then you can take a screenshot of the calendar and print it as a picture.
