Paper catches on one side and then jams. Checked for pieces of paper that may be caught, none.

Hi,
I have had the same problem for months and it drove me mad!
Today I found the solution!
It is true that the printer jams all the time because of its incapability to get a grip on the paper.
If you look over the paper tray inside the machine and you start printing, just before it jams you will see some sort of rotating device, trying to pick up the paper for transportation. This little piece seems to be the problem, because you will see that it is unable to lift the paper.
The problem is, that the surface of this part isn't rough enough.
It used to be, when you just bought it, but over a certain time it got too smooth.
Here is what I did;
I took out the paper tray, so that the rotating device was clear to work on.
With a little sharp knife I started to scrape and make little cuts on the surface too make it rough again. And guess what, it worked!
I have just printed thirty pages without problems, Yes!!!!!!
I guess that the problem will return when the surface of that rotating device gets too smooth again, but now you know what to do.
The worst thing is that in the end it feels even very logic.
Why didn't I think of this much sooner?
Anyway I hope this will work for you as well, any many others....

good luck!
R.

The simplest and quickest way to resolve this is to use a clean cloth with some alcohol and rub the take up roller. This helps to remove any paper dust, etc that may be clogging the pores of the take up roller. You can also purchase some cleaner specifically designed for rubbers in printers. It's alot more expensive though. I have been using plain alcohol for years and have yet to have this fail.

Canon IR 2016j, paper jams on every copy. How do i fix it?

Dear Abdullah
pl. check the machine base where it stay, it should be plain and firm.
Next check the left side door(test it by pushing inside while making copy). check the fixing assembly and paper path, may be toner clogged on its surface.
If your machine covered more than 200000 A4 copies, check the paper path (guide) at registration sensor and delivery guide at fixing unit.
If the paper jam at paper pickup tray, replace the pickup roller set (2nos.)

Since you have not mentioned the page counter and where paper jam occurs, its difficult to assume more.

thanks.

Paper jams frequently unless I feed them manually one by one

Try using a better quality paper (heavier paper). Also give the paper some air before using.

I REMOVE THE JAMMED COPY. PRINTER STARTS AGAIN AND JAMS UP AGAIN ON THE VERY NEXT COPY. COPY SEEMS TO BE MADE BUT CAN'T GET OUT OF THE EXIT

Jam may not be completely cleared or paper is not suitable for your printer.

You can find your User Guide, an Educational Guide on the paper which is compatible with your printer and updated Drivers here:

http://my.okidata.com/PP-B4350.nsf?opendatabase

In the Troubleshooting section of the User Guide (page 74 of the English version) there is a section on dealing with Paper Jams. Make sure you have cleared all areas and that your paper is compatible.

My 5600 Series Printer is fairly new and got a

Hi, How did you remove the paper jam. You might have applied a lot of pressure while removing the paper jam and that might have damaged parts in the sensing unit. If the printer is fairly new, I would recommend you to take it to the manufacture's service center and get is checked thoroughly assuming that the printer is still covered under warranty. So you the warranty period and get a free check-up.
Cheers!

Epson stylus DX3800 All in one printer, scanner Unable to print

Open the printer cover and look closely for tiny paper shreds that might got stuck between the rollers. If you have a canned air, try blowing out the paper path as those tiny piece of paper might be blocking the paper sensor.

I am having trouble loading paper into my Canon MP190 Printer?

Try loading less paper AND try this trick:

Holde the stack of paper you are going to load with both hands... grip tight with the right hand and "bend" the paper like an arch. Then grip tight with the left hand, loosed grip with right, and "bend" the paper like a valley. Repeat this a few times to quickly seperate the individual pages so they don't stick together and thus jam in the printer!

Hope this helps!

False Paper Jam Error

Make sure the paper tray guides are set against the paper more likely to be the back guide not pushing the paper to the front of the tray. If you have the guides set correctly then place one sheet of paper in the tray and blot some methylated spirits on the leading edge along the page width and close the tray and try printing something.

You will have a jam repeat process 3 or 4 times then open tray and remove paper. Where you soaked the spirits into the paper there should be a grubby mark where the feed roller has rubbed and cleaned. Wipe the tray dry and put fresh paper in then hopefully you will now be able to print. If you cannot then the likely thing is that the paper feed pickup spindle is broken and will need replacing.

Hope this helps you and please rate me

Paper Jam with no Jam

You may have overloaded your paper feeder with heavy card stock and caused a very tiny jam that you have not found yet so that it will act oddly as it is. Look right up inside unit with a torch and down back where the paper goes in.Try printing on plain a4 agian, place a small stack in feeder, reset paper guides too. Also could be your paper sensor, fixable under warranty.
