Question about Peg Perego John Deere Gator HPX Ride on Toy

Hi..our john deere gator will not run. i took the seat off then unscrewed the 2 screws to the gear box thing and saw this big plug unplugged. i cannot find where to plug it in and i don't know how to put the gear thingy back on bc of the little springs...any help would be much appreciated... thanks! :-)

I had the same problem and the guys at
told me it was for a power lift accessory, but not used for anything else.
You may need new switches but I would email them at or call them for help.

one of your motors is probably out, you'll have to remove the dump box, and then the top panel, this should give you access to the motors unplug one and then test the gears, then do vice versa with the other motor, might still be under warranty, if you can provide me the date code i can tell you if its still under warranty

I can't get the John Deere Gator seat to move back. What am I doing wrong?

you have to turn the whole vehicle on its side or upside down and then unscrew the for plastic knobs on the bottom of the seat and move it to the desired position then put the four red knobs back in

What is holding the motor in the gearbox on a john deere gator?? can the motor be replaced without removing the tire and gearbox?

hi, there are 2 screws that hold the motor on the gearbox...there is no way to replace without removing the wheels, the screws are on the opposite side of the gearbox, sorry.

the battery is behind the front grille, you have to remove the screw in the middle and then pull out on the green plastic clips on each side then fold down

How do you move the seat up and back?

has big plastic nuts underneath! you basically unbolyt the seat & repostion it in the series of holes provide!

My son's gator will not go in reverse anymore.....When we first got it it did but as soon as we removed the screw for 2nd gear, it stopped....why

The problem is with the red forward/reverse switch. The two speed switch only works once the red forward contacts are engaged. I had the same problem several years ago. Replace the red switch and you are good to go.
