Check the water inlet valve. Remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the water inlet valve ports. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Based on your description, pay particular attention to the hot water side. The solenoids can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Is it normal for the washing machine to start and stop the spinning while the machine is in each cycle? Should it take over an hour to run one wash cycle?

Yes...they use less water...so they start, tumble, then cycle again adding more water. I use the fastest setting on all my clothes which is 1/2 hour. It also does start and stop during spinning to tumble the clothes. It speeds up as it goes thru each stop till it spins real fast. All my clothes wash perfectly on fastest cycle.

HI, I spent many years in apartment maintenance and most communities have maintenace staff to fix issues you have with their equipment, call the leasing office. The most likely cause is a bad timer.

I just moved into a furnished apartment with a Hoover washer. Please could you explain how to operate it. I have used it twice, but both times it took at least 3 hours to complete the washing.

this is probably because most front load washer heat the water. check if you can adjust temperature or turn off,or check if the washer has a quick cycle for example quick 30 minute cycle.good luck keep me informed

Front load washer FTF530FS1 stop mid cycle, sometimes for more then an hour, then starts up again, entire cycle can take more then 3 hours? Also during cycle is very loud.

Seems you have possibly 2 problems. One, check to see if the element is not faulty. If no heat during heating cycle, the washer wont proceed for a long time.. Two, if noisy, especially on spin cycle, the bearings (2 of them) and the seal are faulty. Replace them as soon as possible.

W6021 will not heat water, but will continue to wash a complete cycle. It does take over 3 hours to complete one cycle. I have changed the temperature select module.

Sounds like heating element, should read around 30 ohms on multimeter if okay, if faulty will take forever to do wash...Good luck

How long should a normal wash cycle take on the whirlpool duet?

One hour and 10 minutes is normal for your washer. All front load washers take a long time. They wash a lot better than top loaders. So to answer your question.. yes its normal.

Wash cycles far too long!

you may have the hot and cold hoses connected wrong way round. water flow from hot is often very slow hence the extended times. to check, put on rinse which should let cold water in. see if it is in fact hot water coming in and this confirms hoses wrong way round. just interchange them. smell could be due to using liquid detergent. change to powder type
