Blue and yellow not printing

Just make sure you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges. Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, remanufactured or clone cartridges, you might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.
Try cleaning the cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark software installed on your computer instead:1. On your computer, go to Start menu.2. Go to Programs.3. Go to Lexmark 2600 Series folder.4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.5. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean it from dirt and possible clogs.
Should the problem continue, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center to have your genuine cartridge replaced. They might ask for your receipt so have them ready. If you're not using genuine supplies, please replace your cartridges with original supplies.

NOT PRINTING COLOR (INK LEVEL GOOD) PRINTS ON BLK/WHITE MODE

Your color cartridge may need some cleaning. If you're using Windows, go to Start menu > Prorgrams/All Programs > Lexmark 2600 Series > Solution Center. Go to Maintenance tab and select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
If problem continues, try to insert a different known working color cartridge to determine if it's a faulty cartridge issue.

I can not print it say's that I am out of ink. I have only printed off it 2 times.

It could be that your cartridge needs cleaning. On your computer, go to Start menu > All Programs > Lexmark 2600 Series Printer > Tools > Lexmark All-In-One Center > Maintenance > Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. You can also try to manually clean the cartridge nozzles. Remove your cartridges from the printer. Wipe the cartridge nozzles using a slightly moistened soft cloth. Reinsert the cartridges into the printer. Try to print again.
If problem continues, try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.

Where is the toner cartridge and how do I find it?

Plug the Lexmark 2600 into an electrical outlet and press the power button. Allow the unit to power up. The power button will turn green when ready.

Turn on the Printer and Open the top cover of the Lexmark 2600 by lifting the cover upward. you will find all cartridges down there.

Now you see how to replace them

Remove the black ink cartridge from it's packaging. Remove the tape from the black ink cartridge first and place the cartridge into the left ink cartridge holder. Press the cartridge down into until you hear it lock into place. Close the ink cartridge holder lid by pressing it down firmly. This secures the ink cartridge in place.

Remove the colored ink cartridge from the packaging and remove the tape from the cartridge. Place the cartridge into the right cartridge holder and press down until it clicks into place. Push down the cartridge holder lid.

Close the lid of the Lexmark 2600 and allow the print cartridges to align. The power light will be blinking while the cartridges are being aligned; once the power light turns solid, the printer is ready for use.

Do you know how to reset a Lexmark 15 print cartridge chip?

Take a small pice of clear tape. Try covering one of the outside vertical row of contacts at the front of the cartridge. Re-insert it and it should "fool" the printer into thinking it is a new cartridge. It works for a Lexmark 2600 series all in one. Good Luck.

OR

Use clear tape over left hand row of sensors on front of cartridge and re-insert. ink now shows with question mark but reads as full and prints fine.

How to load ink catritridge #4&5

plz follow the steps below:

Step 1 Locate the "On" button located on the top right side of the Lexmark 2600 Series Printer Scanner. Turn the unit on by pressing and releasing the "On" button one time.
  • Step 2 Raise the scanner unit until it locks into place. Allow the print cartridge carrier to move to the loading position. Wait for the print cartridge carrier to stop moving.
  • Step 3 Locate the color print cartridge in the carrier on the right. Release the empty color print cartridge by pressing down on the cartridge carrier latch. Raise the cartridge carrier lid. Remove the empty color cartridge by pulling it straight up. Place the empty cartridge in the plastic bag and set aside for recycling.
  • Step 4 Remove the new color cartridge from its packaging. Remove the protective tape from the nozzle and connector on the back and bottom of the color cartridge. Dispose of the protective tape.
  • Step 5 Install the new color cartridge into the right cartridge carrier slot. Close the cartridge carrier lid. Press down on the cartridge carrier lid until it clicks into place.
  • Step 6 Raise the scanning unit slightly. Release the scanning unit support. Close the scanning unit.

Need to reset ink levels on printer (lexmark 2600)

    Hi
It is the chips on the inks that make it shore empty nothing you can do about it.

But I have found this bit of read up on the internet forum Gave it a go may work if it works come back let us know so I can pass it on to others Thanks.

1 Take a small pice of clear tape. Try covering one of the outside vertical row of contacts at thr front of the cartridge. Re-insert it and it shoudl "fool" the printer into thinking it is a new cartridge. It works for my Lexmark 2600 series all in one.

2 Use clear tape over left hand row of sensors on front of cartridge and re-insert. ink now shows with question mark but reads as full and prints fine.

3 I had fully covered the contacts because it was the full length of my Scotch tape. It did not work. I went back and re-read thread, wiped the contacts the computer was telling me, took off the strip and put on just a sliver covering the left vertical side of the contact only. It worked! Yippee! Thanks a million!

Can't print black and white only with Lexmark 2600!

    Hi MikeC,

Most of the time this is due to the black cartridge being out of ink. The Lexmark uses all the colors to create black when the black ink cartridge runs out, but won't let you print black because it is essentially saving ink.

Hope that's the reason and it isn't the printer failing. Good luck! :)
