uninstall the printer driver and re-install it to correct the problem. Do u Hav the printers CD? use it if yes but if no go to http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PRN_PHT_964&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
There are some peculiar printers. These need alignment prior to first printing. If u havn't done it, reinstall the printer, during setup one stage it will ask for alignment, the place a plain paper on the feeder. A printed page will come out, place it on the scan tray (be sure of placing it properly with correct directions). It will be scaned and a success signal will appear. thats all.
Either there is a bad contact with one of the inks ( take it out clean the contacts w/ alcool),or turn it off open the printhead area and try putting it back to it's original place, which is usually on the far right.
