Store is some where that is above 50 degrees, when the vinyl gets too cold it becomes brittle and can shrink/crack. Also make sure no bugs or rodents can get at it! They love to make 'homes' in between the creases in the winter months.

Pool leaks almost all the way around the seam at the bottom. what do i do?

check the warranty period for the pool liner
if in warranty period ask for a replacement
. if not there are special plastic glues available from a pool shop that will do the job or take the liner to a upholstery or plastic awning manufacturer and have it welded again

WHAT AND HOW DO YOU VACUUM INTEX ABOVE GROUND SALT WATER POOL

I used the manual vacuum that came with the pool during the summer because I actually got in the pool and vacuumed), but ultimately, now that it is cold, I went to the pool store and bought a much bigger vacuum (that still hooks up to the water hose) and then a longer pole. It's just too darn cold to get in the water during the winter. :-) Hope this helps!

How do I winterize my krystal clear sand filter pump

The manual might provide some insight but usually the Intex pools are vinyl and are taken down and stored indoors for the winter. This makes a lot of sense in most areas because they won't be used in the winter and if you kept it set up the sun, wind, and temperature affects the plastics, etc. so that its lifespan is reduced. If it is stored in a place that freezes then you would need to make double sure there is no water in the equipment.

I hope this helps.

I have an above ground intex vinyl pool, does this need to be emptied and removed in the winter?

Where you live and the severity of your winter would dictate the answer here and you have said nothing regarding this. Please contact a pool service company in youre area and ask for their recommendations.

Is there any chemicals I need to add to my pool when I leave it up and full of water for the winter. I am worried about the alge growth. when I stop treating the water . on my salt water system.

If you have the intex soft side pool do not leave it up.
Once the water freezes and thaws you take a big risk of gouging the pool and thus tearing it.
These pools are meant to be taken down every year if you live in a freeze area

Would like to know how to close a salt water pool for winter

There is nothing special about closing a pool based on using a salt water generator system. You can use any chlorine based chemicals for your winter dosing and you drain the lines, including the generating cell, just as you always would.

This is our first year with an intex 18x52 metal frame pool. can we leave it up in the winter and how do you close it?

I don't know how well those hold up during the winter months... it all depends on where you live...

Put in a gallon of shock and a 60% algaecide, let it circulate 8-12 hours and then drain it below the inlet and outlet. Put an air pillow in the middle and then a cover on top of that, secure the cover with a cable. Empty and clean the filter system and hoses then bring it indoors. You MUST take off all the excess water and snow.
