Question about KitchenAid KUDR01TJ Dishwasher

1 Answer

Water pressure? I read somewhere that low pressure of the incoming water will make it so that the items on the top drawer will not be as clean. I don't see how this can be the case, as I thought that the way the washer worked was that the washer filled (at whatever speed) and then the machine itself pumped the water through the system at the appropriate pressure. Please clarify.

Mom...not true. The water fills the machine which then uses its own pump to spray the dishes with the water/detergent. If your dishes are not getting clean, use the recommended amount of detergent. Hard water will require a spot treatment like JetDri or a product formulated for it. Oh, and if the water temp is less than about 125 (if you can keep your hand in it from the isn't hot enough) you should use the water heater. Oh, and make sure the spray arm holes are clear!

I have a Samsung side by side refrigerator Model No: RS21DCSV. The water and ice dispenser are working. However, the water is no longer chilled?

Water is stored in a tube bundle located behind the crisper drawers (bottom, back of the refrigerator) and is chilled to the temp of the refrigerator (perhaps 40 degrees F). This tubing holds approx. 16-32 ounces (less than a liter) and incoming water pushes the chilled water to the dispenser, but also begins to warm the output water temps.

The only way to get colder water is the set the refrigerator to a lower temperature. But be careful that the temps are not so low as to cause other food items to freeze.

Why is the spray arm in my frigidaire dishwasher not raising all the way and dishes on the top rack are not getting clean?

Good Afternoon Stephanie,

I understand the spray arm is not raising all the way in your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# FDB750RCC. I also see that the dishes on the top rack are not getting clean due to this. The spray arms are stationary where they are attached to, other than turning due to water pressure. Please try the following solutions:

• Choose another cycle for longer washing time.
• Check rack loading section for proper loading-avoid nesting items.
• Home water pressure may be too low- should be 20 to 120 pounds per square inch (psi).
• Check incoming water temperature. It should be at least 120 degrees F.
• Select HI-TEMP WASH option.
• Check water hardness. For extremely hard water, it may be necessary to install a water softener.
• Use fresh detergent.
• Check to make sure funnel in top rack is not blocked.
• Make sure items are not blocking the spray arms, preventing them from rotating.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Will not rinse well

Is the dishwasher leaving them soapy or dirty with food due to the no rinsing? If the problem is still dirty with food you can try some of the following tips.

Choose a cycle with longer washing time.

Avoid nesting items on top of each other or layering them too close together.
The home water pressure may be too low; it should be between 20-120 psi (pounds per square inch) which should be checked by a plumber.

The incoming water temperature should be at least 120F at the sink closest to the dishwasher before starting a wash cycle.

For heavy food soils always select HI-TEMP WASH option if available.

Check for water hardness. Water hardness can be determined by the local water supply company, water treatment company or via a water hardness test kit, which can be found at local part distributors or hardware stores. In areas where the water hardness is 12 grains or higher, some kind of water softening is recommended. For very hard water a home water softening system would be recommended.

Always use fresh detergent, the older the detergent (About one year) the less effective it is at cleaning dishes

My washer stopped and shows LF. What do I do?

For Maytag top-loading washers, the LF code indicates that there is a problem with the incoming water to the washer. First check if the valves are fully open at the inlets (hot and cold). Make sure that the hoses aren't kinked.

Next turn off the incoming water valves and take off the hoses from the back of the washer. Clean the filters that are on the washer inlets. Reconnect the hoses and check for leaks. (Some hoses will seal themselves if they detect a leak; you may want to use new hoses when you reattach the hoses.)

Make sure that the incoming water pressure is above the minimum 10 psi. (I live in a rural area. When the water company has a problem with the pump, broken pipe or power outage, low water pressure can be a problem. We wait until the problem is fixed before using the washer.)

Next check if the drain hose has been put too deep into the stand pipe. If the outlet of the hose is below the water level in the washer, the water will be siphoned directly into the drain. The flow will trigger the LF error.

If none of the above solve the problem, then either the valves or the incoming water pressure sensor on the washer has a problem. You will need to replace the appropriate parts.

I hope this helps.

We installed a Bosch 1600h ng tankless and it will occasionally ignite but not regularly??

Before calling service technician, open following links for Bosch troubleshoot resources:
1) General resources:

2) Sales page: Notice the paradoxical promotion of unlimited hot water that saves 50% off utility bill.

3) 1600H troubleshooting. Click each item and it opens drop down menu that also has links to service bulletins. Lots of reading, but a great way to get familiar with your product.

I do not recommend tankless for the number of difficult and expensive problems, the required yearly maintenance, plus the specific need for incoming air quality, sufficient quantity of gas, water quality, water pressure, water volume, and correct venting and drainage of vent condensation. And never recommend self-installation since most tankless manufacturers refer immediate problems back to the installer.

Assuming the tankless was installed correctly and not defective:
Other problems can be caused by household conditions.
For example crossover:
Tight house: tankless require more incoming air than tank-type because they burn so much more fuel per minute of operation:
Low water pressure:

Hello, Dishwasher is not cleaning well, it leaves a white film coating especially on top rack items. thanks

Please check if something is blocked near the top spray arm, also make sure that all holes are open. Use a sharp metal pin to clean the holes on the top spray arm. Make sure the water pressure is not low.
under the screen and you'll need a Torx screwdriver to get to it after you remove the spray arm and screen. Check to see that the path it travels is clear. I have seen these get blocked up by stuff.

Now check if the top arm spins freely and check the bearings for the arm, if they are producing extra friction while the spray arm spins.
White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.
You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle. Make sure that your soap dispenser drawer is opening and closing fine.
Hope this helps... Please post back if more information is required.

Bottom draw used infrequently - coonot use comes up with code LP

I am assuming the top drawer is working ok.

The code LP (meaning low pressure) is possibly linked to the inlet water not coming in at the correct pressure.

If this is happening with the bottom drawer only, then the likely cause is a kink or cracked inlet water connection to the drawer. YOU will have to turn the power and water connection off and pull the drawer out to inspect.

Dishwasher not getting enough water in either drawer, although top drawer gets more. Dishwasher keeps beeping during cycle and reads not enough water and then stops running until you press the start...

This sounds like a hard water deposit problem.
Check your water inlet valve for a screen and see if its clogged. Also it may just be a water valve/solenoid problem. As in, it's too crusted up to float up and down.
Some models have a water fill timer, while others use a water fill/pressure switch. This may also bear inspection.
The beep you hear during your cycle is indicating that your water level is too low to cover the heating element, which can cause cracking and lead to a short.

Water is leaking out of detergent dispenser- big time

Water pressure may be too high, try turning the cold water feed pipe (usually the blue one)down a little, not too much though. If this does not solve it,is the machine lying level front to back? If not pack up the front of washer until level. If still no good take out dispenser drawer completely check for obstruction inside housing of machine. Also while drawer is out clean the underside or top of dispenser housing with an old toothbrush or similar tool,(you will see several pin holes where the water comes out when filling). To take out dispenser open drawer fully and there should be a clip at top back of drawer that you push while pulling drawer at the same time.Hope this is useful to you.
