How do i get to low and hi band

there are 2 band switches. one is a rotary switch and one is a slide switch. the rotaryhas a/d e/b and f/c. the band high low switch will determine weather the first position is d or there are a total of 6 band switches. I can't remember witch band is cb band. I recommend getting a frequency counter so you can see what channel you are on. 27.205 is channel 20.

I need to know what each knob and switch on front of radio should be set at. i know about the squelch setting and mic gain (at least i think I do) but not sure about all the other settings for your...

To use this radio on the CB band, you set the 10 Khz switch to OFF, and then turn the band switch to A/E.

Here is a Frequency Chart.

When the 10 Khz switch is on OFF, the band switch is E,F,G,H. When the 10 Khz switch is in the ON position, then the band switch is A,B,C,D.

So when you are on band E, which is when the 10 Khz is OFF, and the band switch is in the first position, it is on the E band.

I would get your self a Frequency counter. It makes using a radio like that much easier.

Hope this helps!

I was listening to my 25 17 on 11 meter which is band b and all of a sudden,it went to the standard 40 channels on band b and c and the other bands are off as well.

Without looking at it and from what you're saying a crystal went bad in the radio.A crystal is what controls your channels or freq.

What frequency do these run?? am or fm??

CB or citizen's band is in the 27 MHZ band. Its 40 channels long, AM typically, and on some models side band, or SSB.

It is only legal in the US to have a radio that operates in the 27 MHZ band on the designated 40 channels using AM or single side band only.

The MCB-30 is an AM only radio.

I'm not getting any response from my one can hear me and i cant hear anyone

This radio has many frequencies and it is easy to "get lost" Make sure you have it on the correct band and check the HI / LOW switch as this gives double the channels that are on the band switch.

Combination of hi / low switch and the band knob, I believe C band with the switch on low will give regular channels.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, possible faults with the BAND switch, BAND HI LO switch, or any of the diodes in the matrix.

Offhand, perhaps the schematic diagram of the Band Board would help.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
