Question about Pioneer DEH-2100 CD Player

At high volume sound shuts off, subs still work

I recently installed this cd player in my car. It came out of another car and was working perfectly. It is hooked to 4 factory speakers and a kicker amp powering a 10" sub. When I turn it up loud (it happens at different loudnesses, but not low) the 4 speakers stop playing but my sub keeps going. I have to shut the head unit off then turn it back on and everything works again. It does this almost constantly. Any ideas?

You most likely have a shorted or damaged speaker, which is causing the internal amp chip to shut down (but does not affect the preamp outputs). A test you can do is to fade to one speaker at a time and turn it up to se if it shuts down. Repeat with each speaker until you find the one that causes the fault. Then replace it.

Sure if you have the speakers that take the "KICKING"! THe CD player merely provides the signal to the amp. As long as there is no backfeed of the power of the amp you should be OK.

How to hook up 2 kicker 10" speakers & kicker amp to a 2002taurus

Good day ma'am, hi, hooking up an extra amp. on your radio is done by audio professionals, but if you can remove the radio out from your ford, you can install that extra amp. Just follow the diagram below.63bff30.gif You need to find line out of your radio to line in of your kicker amp. connect them using audio shielded cables. connect your speakers to the amp. I guess you this already.

I have a vw polo 06. Can i hook up a sub plus rear speakers to the factory fitted cd player?

You can use a hi-low converter off your existing speakers. This will give you rca signal wires to run one or more amps, and speakers.

No Sound Through Speakers

Hi Jake,

If you haven't done so already, I'd try double checking the speaker wiring, you may have some exposed or badly kinked wires behind the unit.

Cheers,

Sound shuts off, sub still works

That is a common problem with this radio, for it can not go to loud without going down in volume or shutting down.

No sound to the in car speakers from my alpine cda-9827 cd player

What kind of car did you install this in? Did it have a factory radio in it? If I had to take a guess I would think that there is a factory amp that you may have hooked the blue wire from the alpine deck to. If this is the case when you switch to CD the alpine deck turns off the power to the power antenna lead(blue wire) and thus your factory amp. If this is the case hook the factory amp turn on to the blue and white wire and you should be good to go.

No sound coming from my factory speakers

Hey Eric, I had the same problem with my 2000 GMC Yukon and because of the OnStar connection in these vehicles you must get power to the factory amplifier which can be done by running a relay wire from the blue remote wire or the power antenna wire to either the pink or green wire on the extra pin adapter that you unplugged from the back of the factory unit. Hopefully you have figured this out by now but for future readers this solution should be helpful.
