I need owners manual and belt size for my dirt devil model # UD20100 MFG A1A AJ

The manual for the Dirt Devil Cyclonic II (UD20100) is available from the manufacturer's product site: http://dirtdevil.com/products/details/ud20100/dynamite-cyclonic-ii/ . Click on the link for the manual below the Where to Buy link. The current direct link is http://dirtdevil.com/file/280/ . If you click on the Parts tab, you'll see an option to buy a replacement belt. The company refers to this belt as Belt Style 15 with the part number of 1SN0220001. The direct link to order a belt from the manufacturer is http://dirtdevil.com/parts/details/1sn0220001/belt-style-15/ . Other sites, like Amazon.com, have the belt and may be cheaper.

I hope this helps.

Why is the new belt on my dirt devil featherlite repeatedly slipping off? Everything else on it works fine and the b elt is the correct size.

Hello! There is no other part that goes on the motor shaft after the belt is put on. The tension of the belt keeps the belt from slipping off. If you have a brand new belt that keeps slipping off you may not have the correct belt for the vacuum. Be sure you replace with a genuine Dirt Devil belt and the specified belt style for your particular unit. Hope this helps! I got a cord wrapped around the roller brush and after removing it the roller brush won't turn.

should have smelt a rubber smell at the same time. The rubber belt probably melted in half. Just flip vacuum over so you can see the bottom. look for arrows pointing to clips or screws. Usually requires removing one panel and the brush. Buy new belt (look on vacuum for correct size or take make and model and name to the store). Just reinstall, replace brush and cover and screws and your all good.

Trying to change belt

The procedure for changing a belt will vary depending on the type of vacuum you have. However, I can give you some general guidelines. Unplug the vacuum and turn it over. Generally there will be some type of cover you need to remove to expose the beater bar. This cover can sometimes be removed by taking out screws and sometimes there are plastic tabs you need to push in with a screwdriver to loosen it. Once this cover is removed you will probably see the broken belt. You need to buy a replacement belt of the same size. You can probably look up your vacuum online to find out what size you need. You can also take the old belt to the store and match it up with the available new belts. Once you have a new belt you need to remove the beater bar. The ends of the beater bar will probably fit into some type of indentations or slots. Pull on the beater bar and it should slide out. Place the new belt around the beater bar. Also hook the belt around the metal motor stub located near the rear and to one side of the exposed underside of the vacuum. Now insert the beater bar back into its original slots. This will require pulling hard on the beater bar to stretch the belt forward and away from the metal motor stub. Replace the cover and you’re good to go. I hope this helps you out

Majestic filter queen vacums

Your belt is either stretched or the wrong size or the brush bushings are worn and allowing the brush to wobble or the motor is loose in its housing. You need to check all.
Rotate the brush and try to wobble it from the pulley end.
Flip the belt inside out, it if appears cupped, cracked or shiney and slips easily on and off the brush it is stretched. Generally this unit needs anew belt evrey 6 months, broken or not, they get hot and stretch. Do not buy a new belt by matching size, a worn belt can be 20-30% oversized and not broken but totally useless.
The motor shaft should be cleaned with W/D 600 grit sand paper. Motor should have no wobble in the shaft

Small belt driving the brush...stretched out with hair accumulated in groove beneath belt. Is there a clutch or other means of tightening the belt. Went to store found belt...same size, therefore...

You do not by a belt by size, buy it by model only. A new Hoover belt will generally be very snug when installed. As heat builds from use it stretches and becomes worn sometimes as much as 30% oversize. Good that you have cleaned out the hair. Check the end caps of the brush as well. Go to a Hoover service center or retailer and buy the matching belt by model # on the package and you will be set.
