Hi,
Check your oil level. If overfull, find the oil drain plug and lower the level to the "full" mark on your dip stick (built onto the oil cap). If you can't find the oil drain, I'm sure you can improvize. My wife never pays attention to this and just adds a quart... ha... but really, it's important.
Hope this helps... Good luck!

Put new gas and new oil in and tried to start. Would stall in few seconds when could start. There is fluid dripping from the filter area

Hi Anonymouse:
I'd be checking to make sure that the correct fluid in the correct amount was added to the correct place.
Start with the oil. Check the dipstick or indicator level. Too much oil will stop the engine. Sometimes gas get accidently put in the oil filler if an inexperienced person is helping with the maintenance.
Gas.......... Make sure that oil was not accidently added to the gas tank. Drain the carb and put fresh gas in the gas tank.
Spark plug.;.... pull and check for fouling. Replace if not really clean. Check for hot blue spark before re-installing.
This should get you back digging up the garden very soon.

Clicking noise coming from bottom front of engine on 2006 equinox could it possibly be the storter not disengaging?

I have a 2006 chevy equinox and when i started it it had a quiet tick which was a completely new development. As I drove it became very loud so we pulled over turned it off...started it again after a coupld minutes it started but noise was still there, checked the oil it read low so we added two quarts then it wouldn't start meanwhile no smoke showed no burning smell didn't overheat and now lights came on.

I have an 2004 Mercury Mountaineer it has 207900 miles on it , this morning I was cruising on interstate at 75 mph I started up a hill and it would only go to 70mph I turned off the cruise and tried to...

It is possible that when you had an oilchange the oil used was 10/40 which is correct for this vehicle BUT i would advocate that a thicker oil is used for this mileage say 20/50.
all cars will use/burn oil and i always ask my customers how much oil they put in from the last service so that i can judge what oil to use.Thin oils (5/30)should only be used for new cars, and even then
keep an eye on oil usage/burn.....
We have all read,in various publications that "using the wrong oil can cause damage"but after 40 years in the trade,i have NEVER had a complaint or any engine damaged by this method of filling
at service.(we had forty bays in my last dealership.)

Husband put unleaded gas with the oil added due to a 2 cycle engine, now it won't run

not clear on the problem?
I think you mean he has to add 2 stroke oil to the gas then fill up the blower then start it but it won't start? If the mixture is wrong it wont run well if at all.
Check the spark plug has a spark (unscrew it rest it against metal body with HT lead attached and try to start it, keep clear of the lead tho don't hold it in place!! it can be shocking. Check the unit isn't flooded (very wet spark plug).
try starting it with no choke, try several times then gradually increase choke, is it try to run yet?

After 1 season it ran great ,slowly died now it wont start

So many possibilities, so little data... <grin>

When you say "clean gas", do you mean that you added "fresh" gas, or that you emptied the tank, and refilled it with "fresh" gas?

Try this:

a. remove the "float bowl" screw, and put a regular "bowl" or pan underneath to catch ALL of the gas as it comes out.

b. if the gas is totally "clear", then it (probably ain't the gas), but... if it's "yellow", it's old and/or contaminated; alternatively, if there's any water (which may appear as a grey-ish liquid) then it's contaminated; also, don't forget to check the gas from your "storage" can, the same way...

c. re-install the the screw, and put some *FRESH* gas in the tank.

d. pull the spark-plug, and clean (or replace) it.

e. prime it, and crank it, and it should start right up.

Fg 110 mini tiller by honda

I have had the same problem.
The first time the solution was to replace the rubber membrane underneath the primer bulb. Take off the bulb, then remove the plastic part underneath the bulb. There is a rubber membrane underneath that. The ethanol in the gasoline tends to deteriorate the membrane. The honda dealers sell them for about 14 dollars.

The second time the problem was caused by the gas cap, not properly venting. In this case the engine would start and run, but when I gave it full throttle, it would quit.
It got so bad that it wouldn't even run. I noticed when I loosened the gas cap it ran great.
So I took off the cap, removed the inner parts, and got a diaper in and pushed it though the holes in the plastic part underneath the cap, and through the rubber plug in the center. I did this a few times and check with my mouth to see if I could pull some air through the cap. When it breathed satisfactorily, I put the cap back on the gas tank and it ran great. Now it runs better than new.
