Samsung DVD vrc combo

I have to different samsung combo units and both will load and play CD's but neither will play a dvd. All I get is a message that it can not play the disk or is gets stuck loading for min's! Any one heard of this problem it is happening with both players.

I have this same problem. I put a dvd in my samsung player, and it sits there and says it is loading for a long time, but doesn't actually ever play. Some times it states the disk is bad. I have tried the same dvd in another player, and it works perfectly. I have tried many different dvds, with the same problem. I Have unplugged and replugged all the cords. I have tried a dvd lens cleaner disk, which doesn't work, the player just says something is wrong with the disk. The dvd player used to work well, and then one day it just stopped. Since this is a combo unit, with a vcr player I still use that works, I would really like to get this working, but I am about ready to give up and buy a new dvd player. Please help!

Something like this happened to me befor, it turned out in the end the button was punched in; interfearing with the DVD system.

My Samsung combo drive does not read or write CD but it plays DVD. It does not have DVD writer only CD writer is there.

It is likely that the laser diode for CD reading and writing has burned out. DVDs use a different laser diode. If this functionality is important to you, replacement is the only option.

I have a Samsung DVD -VR 357 combo unit and i can't record

I have the Samsung dvd-vr 357. I have had a couple problems with it but I called samsung and they walked me through fixing it each time. I don't know if you have tried this or not but that is my suggestion. The last problem I had was copying from vcr to dvd. I got audio but no video. Problem was it was on dvd when i started it, it should have been on vrc. It should be set on whichever one you are recording from. Hope this helps someone.

Cant play DVD on CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive

Assuming you have tried different makes of cd or dvd disks, it's a classic drive failure problem where the laser can no longer burn or read dvd's, but may still be able to read cd's only. You will have to replace the drive, they are quite inexpensive, and very easy to fit.

Will Not Play CD-Rs Part Deux

Checked specs- YES -supposed to play MP3's. Did you try other MP3 Audio disks in the DVD? You can try the MP3 disk in your computer to make sure it is OK. If it plays in the computer, have to suspect a problem with the DVD unit - probably the converter IC.

Will not play CD-Rs

DVD players will play CD's and MUSIC CD-R's. Some will play MP3's IF the unit is so designed. You would see the 'MP3' logo on the front.
