Question about Maytag Washing Machines
Try opening the washer door and feel all the way around the inside of the door seal for any rips or perished areas , if this is the cause the water will leak out from the front behind the panel .
If you think it is leaking from the back it could be several things such as the pump ,the pump hose , the outer drum , or even the bearing housing if it is whining when spinning fast .
You can see everything that's going on in your maytag washer by pulling off the front panel. There are 2 screws near the bottom holding the front panel onto the frame. Remove these screws and pull the front panel off. Just run a wash cycle and see where the water is coming from if you can.
Sounds like That is your drain pump. You will just need to replace it. When water leaked out that tiny little hole on the side of the pump it means that the bearings are going out--- but this should almost continuously leak throughout the cycle not just during spin.
