If BT tested the phone line is OK but did AOL test the connection to the Netgear router and get the IP address of your Netgear router.
The phone connection is OK but the ADSL connection from the telephone exchange may not be working, that is why you are not getting an ADSL light.

All three of our wireless laptops stopped getting internet access

Have you checked to see if your wireless router has the latest firmware updates from NetGear? If not, go to netgear.com to get the latest updates. This can also be accomplished in the router remotely.

New router will not hook up to my laptop.

Check your physical connection first. From the modem, it should be connected to the router's Internet port, then your computer must be connected to port 1 on the back of the router. Then do a power cycle, run the setup CD. If it doesn't work, you need to manually configure the router. You may need assistance from Netgear tech support. Call their toll free number

Router and Aol server not conected.

With AOL make sure you have set these values in the Netgear
ADSL settings as PPPOa
VC 0,38
MTU setting to 1400

If you still have problems

Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> select AOL Connectivity
click Add/Remove -> use the repair option

Follow instructions to repair.

Once complete make sure modem is configured and switched on and
try restarting AOL.

It will search for your connection, find it and allow you to log on.

Have no set up instructions for the wgt624 wireless router

do you have the cd that came with it? if not, everything can be downloaded here

http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGT624v1.asp

there 4 different routers in the wgt624 family. this is the first. check your label to be sure it isn't a later model chipset such as v2, v3, v4. if so use the download link at the netgear site to get the correct downloads for your specific model.

Question on setting up two computers

Yes, I have pretty much the same setup at home. Wired desktop and wireless laptop. On the back of your wireless router, there should be 4 or 5 wired connections which you can use. You will only have to use the setup disk on one computer. Basically, the setup disk is for the router, not the computers, it simply guides you through the router configuration process. You can also do this manually, the manual for the router will give those instructions as well.
