Question about RCA DRC8295 DVD Recorder/VCR Combo

1 Answer

Limited viewing Machine came without manual. We found that DVD-R did not work and tried DVD+R. The machine accepted that, and we made a DVD from an old VHS tape, but we can play that DVD only on the RCA 8295 or a Panasonic DMR ES15 player. We tried "finalizing" on the Panasonic but of course that wouldn't happen. There does not seem to be an option on the RCA 5295 to finalize. Further, on two tv's, an AKAI and an Audiovox which both have built-in DVD players... the newly created DVD will not play. Please please help. We have a lot of old family VHS tapes that we want to convert to DVD, but it's not good unless that can be viewed on other machines! Thank you!!!!

It sounds like the recorder will only record the dvd+ format, which does NOT need finalizing to play in other machines. ( you can record a dvd- , play it back on the machine you recorded it on, but need to finalize it to play on other machines)
The other units may only accept dvd-.(dvd- being the same format as you would buy or rent a film on)
One option, record the dvd on a dvd+rw (if possible) then copy to a dvd-r using your computer. The average use of a dvd+ is 1000 recordings.
There are many free disc burning suites available to download. Just google "free disc burning software" and take your pick.
I use 1 called "magix goya base" for copying disc to disc and "NTI" for burning to HDD and then to disc, if you only have use of 1 drive.

I have the h series 600 e the usb drive when I put into computer to operate is empty!!! also I do not have an instruction manual and the embroidering machine is not connecting to my computer

You didn't say what files you expected to see, but if we assume they are related to your sewing machine then the issue may be in the file name extensions ( ex: .jpg, .pdf etc.). You will have to go into your computer systems settings and make sure you display these. Next you have to make sure your computer will accept these type files to view. Without knowing your operating systems I would be unable to provide step by step, but if I assume MS then you would use control panel, system, files properties.
as I am not familiar with your sewing machine, I have found with other devices, not to plug them into USB port until computer is fully booted. Then plug in turn on sewing machine and see if your system shows new device added. ( might appear as drive)
I am sure you have search the Internet seeking out manual, but a search by product name or sometimes by model number will give some results. ( ex: model name then PDF)

How do you perform a manual reset on a 34788 cool tech filter replacement with filter lock out and no filter code accepted?

There is no way to reset without filter code. This machine ( Model-34788) will not accept even new filter code,if filter from old verson (manufacture before the machine). However try with this code-FD32C46B01. I'm sure this will work! Good luck & vote for my solution.

Will not accept DVD RW disks except the LG variety also does not appear to like other +R's either.

After reading the manual about ten times realised that this particular machine will only accept -R, or -RW's. We've been trying to work with +R and +RW's ... On one occasion after formatting the disk on a computer (+RW) placed it in machine .. It rejected it... but would not eject it and in consequence we had to literally dismantle the machine to physically remove the disk!!!!

Thanks for your time!

Lightscribe DVD + Writer/ CD-Writer....it seems to not recognize a DVD-RW or DVD-R blank disk.

These drives are very picky about the CD's and DVD's they accept because the chemicals on the different manufacturers DVD and CD's are all different. What you will have to do is experiment with different brands... for example go buy very few Verbatim DVD's if the brand works for you stick with it. Unfortunately they don't tell the customers about this... but every burner I have... there are some brand CD and DVD that won't be accepted by the drive. For a shortcut by the CD or DVD's that the manual recommends that is most certainly to work and lets you cut to the chase more expendiantly without wasting money. Good Luck

Remote does not work

Here is a trick i use to see if remotes are working. most people these days have camera phones or some kind of digital camera that have a live picture feed mode before they snap an image. Grab your camera of choice and point the remote at the camera while your viewing this live feed. press any button on the remote in question and you should be able to "see" the infra red led light blinking. if you dont see any blinking then the remote is the problem. try different buttons if you dont see anything at first.

Panasonic DMR-E55 DVD recorder - 'remote DVD2' command

I had the Exact same problem, after finding nothing on the net I called Panasonic customer-Support and they gave me the information which led to the solution:
---
If your DVD screen reads 'remote DVD2':
Press and hold simultaneously the "2" & "Enter" buttons (for more than 20 seconds)

If the screen said remote DVD3 then you would hold "3" & "Enter"
----
What I found happens when this command is accepted, the DVD screen changes to display the channel & counter
e.g. "A2 0:00.26"

If the screen changes back to "Remote DVD2" this means that the signal from the remote control has been interrupted (you stopped pressing, or the batteries have become weak.)

Providing the batteries have power, try again remembering to hold the "Enter" and number displayed after DVD.

The first time I did this it seemed to take forever (more than 30secs.), but other times it's been accepted in 6 secs.
