Question about Pioneer SD-532HD5 53" Rear Projection Television

Pioneer VS 60603

The Tv was purchased in 1999, it has a great picture on it, however today the TV was on and it turn off by itself. Now when the depress power button the green light domes and and a click happens and then it goes back off. Any suggestions?

    I'm having the same problem with my SD-P5193-K. No matter how you try to turn it on it goes right back off. No picture or sound. I have tried with and without remote, batteries out and even unplugging without any success. I also have unplugged all other devices tryin the TV all alone. HELP!!!

Power lost

yes there are 3 fuses all located on the main board which is the board on the right where the power cord is entering the set one fuse is near the cord the other ones are in the center of the board.

Sound but No Picture!

resolder the vertical output IC. Thats a common problem in that model. causes the video to drop out.

You would have to completely take the Mirror out or Mylar backing and being careful not to damage anything, trying to move and reassemble when you get at the new location.

I have seen this before, and I can only describe it as a flaking of the phosphorus coating in one of the picture tubes. If you can, remove the back such that you can take a flashlight and look down into the 3 picture tubes. If you see any flaking or dark spots in the phosphor, there will be a spot on the screen missing that color. Unfortunately, this is not repairable, as all 3 tubes would need to be replaced (like replacing all 4 car tires when one is completely bald) and that would cost more than a new TV.
