While zooming in-out camera gives error message means lens mechanism is either defective or lens drive motor is bad. In both cases, lens assembly will be replaced.
Contact nearest camera repair shop for fix.
Thanks.

DSC W80 Error Message - Zoom and Picture Doesn't work

There is something blocking the sensors for the lens position. This can something as small as a piece of sand. The motors and gears that move the lens are very small and delicate. You can send it in for repairs to www.unitedcamera.com

The lens of canon a520 camera doesnt retract. My son has hardpressed it and it doesnt zoom in or zoom out.

Hi.

Are you receiving an error on the LCD screen such as "Lens Error" ? If so, this camera is defective and needs to be returned to Canon or an authorized dealer for repair.

If you are not receiving any error messages, does the camera have power (turn on and off) and still not zoom? If this is the case it would also be very unusual without an error message. Either way, you are still looking at a repair for this product.

Typically, a Powershot camera of this age would cost over $100.00 to repair at most facilities. You would be better off purchasing a brand new camera (with more megapixels and features) for around the same price as a repair.

My Iphone is stuck on zoom. The lock screen and the springboard are zoomed in on and will not zoom out. I've tried reseting, rebooting, and have done the restore process, but none of it works. I can still...

while your iphone still on zoom, double tap the screen with 3 fingers, make sure 3 fingers, it will bring it back to normal display. I don't know how the zoom feature can get turn on but if you want to turn off this feature then go to Setting --> general --> Accessibility --> set the zoom off. hope this will help

Zoom will not work at all get error turn off camera

The unit attempts to get the lens into a known position when the power is first turned on. If this fails to complete properly, the message you see will be displayed. It is hoped that the power off/on/reset will cure the problem. Since the message appears all the time, the zoom/fucus motor is either stuck or the mechanism is jammed. Some people say to gnetly tap the side of the unit while the power-on sequence is running. This may be enough to release the gearing. Short of that working, I would recommend that you take this to a service center. They will clean and relube the gears inside.
