Question about Sony Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My sony 2.0 gig microvault flash drive is ''not recognized''

My problems started when I removed the flash drive before the computer said that it was ok to remove. I have have applied all reboot techniques shown on Fixya, from Device Mgr. stuff, to uninstall driver , computer reboot etc. Flags do say that the device is working properly, but to no avail. Basically I need to get access to some data on the drive. It's a software problem. All USB ports work with other devices. It's just this ONE!!!

Probably lost all info but can save drive if its like a cruzer ... first with drive inserted go to computer and see what drive it is ie: D:, E: etc. open CMD... on XP go to run type CMD ... in Vista type CMD in the search by start and open command prompt. Type drive letter followed by : (example F:) then press enter now it should look like this F:\>_ now type "DIR" enter and you will see any files on that drive, to copy and try to save files type "copy F:\filename C:\newfolder" now this is just an example so make sure you create a folder to copy to prior to this copy function after you copy all files you need then you can delete files that are preventing it from working in my case I deleted all files and started over. To delete files ... At the prompt type "DEL F:\filename" do this with each file, if you need to know functions in command, at the prompt type "help" when you finish you should be able to format the drive and put your files back on .... good luck

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!
