HP 4650dn Printing Small Specks of Toner

I am getting small specks of black toner on my print outs of my hp 4650dn. It appears that they are in the same vertical line but about five inches apart. Should I just lift the flap on the black toner cartridge and wipe with some cotton balls?

I didn't know what I could touch. I opened the black toner cartridge and found what appears to be a bit of a chip on the roller. it would make perfect sense that this would be causing the problem. I wiped it clean the best I could and the spots are going to remain on my prints. I suppose only a new toner cartridge will solve???

A very common cause of this prob is a full or almost full waste toner container.
Chaek your manual for exact location & procedure on this particular printer.

Try to print clean page ,
Print a cleaning page During the printing process, paper, toner, and dust particles can accumulate inside the printer and can cause print quality issues such as toner specks or spatter, smears, streaks, lines or repeating marks. Follow these steps to clean the printer's paper path.
  1. Load copier-grade paper (not bond, heavy, or rough paper).
  2. On the printer's control panel, touch the Menu button.
  3. Touch Configure Device .
  4. Touch Print Quality .
  5. Touch Process Cleaning Page .
A Cleaning message appears on the printer control panel display while the cleaning is taking place. The cleaning process takes a few minutes to complete. Do not turn the printer off until the cleaning process has finished. A page will be printed when the task is complete. Discard the page. You might need to repeat the cleaning process to thoroughly clean the printer. Print a few more pages to see if the problem is resolved.

Brother HL 5140 has black specks on the page

There's probably something wrong with the drum unit. I would check the manual on how to change the drum unit. Good luck!

I am getting white specks on all four colors on my phaser 8500 and some black smudges. I just did a smudge clean and it helped, but it didn't clear it.

Hello.

Try a laser printer roller cleaner (paper sheets), like PathKleen or Perfect Data. You may need to run sheets through several times before the cleaning is complete. Do not use a sheet more than once.

Hope this helps.

My HP 4ML has been printing fine until recently. Every print job, big or small, the first couple of pages print the pages mostly black, then start to fade the more pages I print in the same print job. ...

You didn't say that you swapped out the toner.
Let's come back to that point later.

Put paper in the manual feed tray.
Print something.
As soon as the paper feeds halfway into the printer, open the top cover.
Pull out the toner, look down at the paper. Is it mostly black?
If the answer is yes....replace the toner.
Vacuum out the inside of the printer and print again.
I think you have a bad toner cartridge

Specks of blue on my printing.

Replace the cyan drum unit. If the specks are always in the same line there is small ding in the drum. If the specks are random then the cleaning blade inside the drum unit is bad. When ever the defect is just one color it usually is that color drum unit.

Did you try cleaning the lense? You'll have to pull all the toners and open the little door below and wipe with a clean lint free cloth in ONE direction.
