Needle on my Singer Simple acts like it is hitting something when fabric is in machine with foot down. Take fabric out and needle passes through.dont know what to do

Install a brand new needle and see if that takes care of it. A bent/damaged needle could strike parts of the machine.

Machine is bending needles!

First, check the owner's manual to make sure you are installing the needle facing the correct direction. If that isn't the problem, take it for service. This is a dangerous situation. The needle is striking something that it should not. Eventually, the needle may break and flying bits of needle are a hazard.

Machine is making a loud knocking noise. Bobbin case cleaned, all lint removed and machine greased but still very noisy.

Suggest taking it for service. Could have something that is loose or out of adjustment.

How do I fix the speed of stitching? When I press on the foot feed I get almost no speed from it.

unless it has been progressively getting slower, I did have a simular issue. My pedal was getting "stuck" at the 1/2 mark. (wasn't pressing all the way down). Drove me nuts. Took the machine apart, cleaned oiled, cleaned again blah blah blah...when the pedal was the last option took it apart and found a nut from a screw had gotten inside the pedal and stopping it from pressed down. There could be a burr, a nick or something it is catching on.

Machine is noisy; top thread breaks, even though needle has been changed out (it seems the thread gets caught on something inside the top)

check to make sure the thread is not winding around the spool pin
also check & see if it's getting caught on the notch on the thread spool
the thread could be coming of the thread take up lever

Kenmore sewing machine 385.1960180, problem with needle centering

That sounds like it's definitely an internal adjustment. The machine will need to be opened up and the left/right adjustment taken care of. Is this machine one that you can open the top easily, or is it the type that has the front and rear shell?

Janome 5700 handwheel stuck/inside pulley stuck

The error message relates to the motor sensing that it is working unusually hard.........the extra strain will have a physical cause, generally in the hook and bobbin region.......something blocking or slowing things down, so.......
Remove needleplate and bobbin case.
You will probably find an accumulation of lint in and around this area, also possibly in the feeddog channels.
Use a small brush and vacuum with crevice tool to remove the lint and wipe the hookrace with a tissue moistened with methylated (denatured) spirit to remove any dirt deposits.
Also check that the bobbin case is not damaged on the top surface by needle strikes or on the underside rim by the hook gouging as it spins.
If damage is present but mild, you can use very fine emery paper to smooth surface, if more severe, replace the bobbin case. Don't forget to change needles regularly too.
Best of ......
