Hi,
This is a know error and the only way to resolve is by pulling all 8 sealing ribbons from the PHD unit during first setup and installation? (4 in front, 4 in rear). When you open the printer box. There's also a very good setup instructional video on the CD.
If the 4 rear ribbons are still installed, remove them and print about 20-30 pages. If the print is still faint, you've ruined the PHD unit and you'll need a new one, Dell P/N DT574

Does not print dark enough to read. Changed toner and adjusted print darkness feature. Still does not work. Any idea what to do?


Hi

When printing, just adjust the PRINT QUALITY to PHOTO because I believe your print quality is set to TEXT. I am sure it will print move darker than before.

My printer is printing dark black at first then the bottom of the page is light black. I have tried shaking the ink cartridge and I don't believe it is old enough to be out already. I just replaced it a...


The amount of time is not a factor, it depends on how much printing you have done. If you have printed a lot of photos the ink get used very very quickly.
The way to improve the print quality is to use the maintenance option to clean the print heads, but it sounds like low ink.

Please check one of the following:
1-Check the level of the black ink it might be low
2- check on the computer printer settings go to see the darkness that you have set-up
3- then perform a nozzle cleaning exercise from your printer settings

Hp psc 1210xi- the black ink cartridge appears to be out- i have a good color cartridge-how do I get the error off of my printer and print with my color cartridge?


  1. Take out the black cartridge once you've determined that you are completely out of black ink. You'll have to rely on the dark hues from the color cartridge to print in black.
  2. Adjust the printer software settings. Once you take out the black cartridge, your printer's software will typically warn you that you are missing a cartridge. Follow the instructions for your printer to allow the printer to print without the black cartridge. Then set the printer to print in black and white, not color. This overrides the black cartridge and allows the printer to access the dark hues of the color cartridge.
  3. Print a test page to ensure that your printer now prints black using the color cartridge.
  4. Print your documents. Bear in mind that your documents may not appear as black as normal. Still, they should be dark enough to pass for black, depending on how much color ink you have and the strength grade of the ink.

Not dark enough


If you use a refilled cartridge all print quality problems should go back to the supplier of the ink.

Lexmark does not now and never has authorized refilled cartridges on their products for this exact reason.

Lexmark cannot guarantee the quality of the ink.

The black is printing dark redish brown


Dear friend, your Black Ink Cartridge is Empty thats why your printer is using the Colour Cartridge to produce the Black Colour. This is the reason you are having Dark Reddish Brown colour instead of Black.

HP Deskjet 6940 not printing after replacing ink cartridge


My HP Deskjet 6940 is not printing. The color (left) low ink light is dark and the black (right) low ink light is flashing. I replaced the black ink cartridge with a new one but the low ink light continues to flash. No tears/rips in the circuit strip and all the copper leads appear to be connected
