Check all electrolytic capacitors and replace those which have rounded tops due to overpressure from inside.
If they are all fine, then problem might be related to old CCFL lamps. You may try to disconnect flat cable from processor board, high-voltage wires from inverter, and cable from front controls. Then take chassis and display apart. On the back side of display, where high voltage wires goes inside, there you will find tiny philips-headed screws. take them off and carefully slide backlight lamps off the display. Check if there contrast black rings over the lamps near to electrodes. If you see some, those lamps must be replased, but meanwhile you can substitute those with 27 pF 3kV capacitors, soldered right over pins of connector on the inverter board. Check if that will make the rest of lamps work. Total brightness will be less, but until you find replacement, the monitor will work.
If CCFL lamps was good (no black rings, no darkened areas), then you may face problem with MOSFETs in primaries of backlight transformers or high-voltage capacitors in secondaries.

Why did my computer monitor stop showing an image?

Disconnect it from computer and power. wait 15 minutes and plug only the power back in, press the power on button. The monitor may display a message that there is no signal or something like that. If that happens the problem is either the cable or the computer. If you get no message then look for the menu button and press it to see if any thing appears. If not find the manual on line and read it. Many times monitors get over-driven by computers to the point that they can't display OR they self destruct.

OR

Another way is to just unplug everything computer and monitor for 15 minutes. Plug in monitor first then plug in computer and press the power button, the display should display the booting information if the cable is good and the monitor is good.

Monitor will not stay powered up

It is possible that the monitor is going back into "Sleep mode" meaning it is not detecting a valid signal from whatever device it is plugged into. I would try replacing the cable that is connecting the monitor to the PC or Console. As a trouble shooting step try pulling up the "Menu" on the monitor itself by pressing the "Menu" button on the front panel of the monitor, if this does come up then we can say that the LCD itself is most likely working.

Gateway FPD 1730 (mfg June 2004) On start-up, monitor flashes bios screen for less than half a second, then flashes the Windows XP logo for less than half a second and then stays black, no image. No...

All support is finished for XP years ago. The system is 13 years old and well past it expected life. Average is 8 to 10 years on a shop bought unit like Gateway, 12 years on a custom build.

I am thinking you probably have a dry joint on the board behind the switch as holding the switch makes the monitor work.

My advice though is a new computer running Windows 10, technology moves on in hardware and software.

My averatec lcd won't stay on

Can you try your monitor on another computer to see if it does this there as well? Usually this happens only when video is not detected coming from the PC. It could be as simple as a short in the monitor cable. If you have it connected to a laptop you'll also want to check you control panel power setting rules and then the screen saver under display.

My i phone went blank. did not come up. I put the charger on it and still nothing. after a few minutes it came on but it stays locked. you cant power it down or nothing. the time does not change it stays...

Try performing a "hard reset"

Press and hold the home button (round one on the front)
Press and hold the power button (on top of the phone) so you are now holding both buttons.

If the "Slide to power-off" comes up, ignore it and continue to hold both buttons for 5 seconds.

Keep holding until the phone fades to black.

Wait 5 seconds, then press the power button until the Apple logo appears.

That should reset your iPhone.

Stupid padlock/main menu keeps opening and closing DELLe152fp

That is the OSD (On Screen Display) system built-in to your computer monitor. Check that when you hit the ON/OFF button on your monitor, that you do *NOT* hit the 'OSD ON/OFF' button.

Most of the time, the OSD will disappear after 10 seconds of "non-use".

Sounds like water damage but try this......... 1) press the * and # and Power button all at once - if the screen fires up with a black screen and some info - then you can flash the phone and hopefully recover it; 2. If the above works - you need to find a flash file and the software to flash it with Good Luck
