FEB24S2AB Oven switch from bake to broil and displays F1 code
I purchased a Frigidaire, 24in single wall oven from lowes about 6 or 7 yrs ago. Item #: 261301 Model: FEB24S2AB In the past and more often recently, the oven will automatically and suddenly switch from bake to broil. The broiler will get extremely hot and the oven will display the "F1" code. Sometimes the pressing the clear or cancel buttons turns it off, but most of the time we have to trip the breaker. The manual says the "F1" code is a runaway oven code, which means the control board may be bad. I called the Lowes customer service and the put me in touch with the Frigidaire parts department. Their customer service people could not find a control board for my model, just a timer (p/n 903091-9050, $89.03). I think this is the correct part, it is the only electronics on the oven except for the light.
I am not sure is this is the correct piece to order, and how difficult is it to change?
I assume I can open the panel, remove a board, and install the new one (reconnecting the wires of course).

Hello, the F1 and the beeping sound is as a result of the Electronic oven Control Failure (EOC), and you need to replace the electronic oven control also called the EOC or clock.
I have a F1 code on my Frigidaire convection oven and a really cool beeping sound to go with it. I turned the breaker off and turned back on---doing the same thing...????????
HI,. this code represents a serious issue concerning the oven control board. It requires the replacement of this board asap, if possible. This damage is not repairable.
hi,
The pan and it's grid is all you need, The broiler pan and it grid allow dripping grease to drain and be kept away from the high heat of the broiler. DO NOT use the pan without its grid. DO NOT cover the grid with foil. Some helpful info.. Preheating is suggested when searing rare steaks. Broil on side until the food is browned; turn and cook on the second side. Broiling times vary, so watch the food closely. Time not only depends on the distance from element, but on the thickness and aging of meat, fat content and doneness preferred. The first side usually requires a few minutes longer than second. BE SURE THE DOOR IS OPEN AN INCH OR TWO WHILE BROILING
