Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
I had a similar problem with my Kenmore washing machine. What I had to do is remove the Timer and clean/blow it out with compressed air and then I re-installed it and it worked good again. The timer is the dial that you turn to set the washer cycles(clicks). It seems the dust gets into the timer assembly and causes it to short out. Now if your waher has digital controls than that is a different story. If it is a mechanical timer try this out before calling a serviceman. A new timer is around $200.
