Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

I am trying to set up a data projector on my asus6000, and although I can get it to work, why is the desktop image on the LCD completely to the right of the screen? That is, the LCD screen is completely plain blue (my background wallpaper), and if I pick up an icon from the desktop as shown by the projector and drag it off the screen to the left, it appears at the right hand side of the LCD. It is as if the display image is 2048 pixels wide and the projector displays the first 1024 and the computer displays the second 1024. Any suggestions or solutions? (The projector is a canon LV 7245

Additional sysinfo - Windows XPHome 2002, service Pack 3,1.37Gb RAM, SIS M760GX display adapter, driver 6.14.10.3653. I have tried all the recommendations and instructions from troubleshooter, and the turn on sequence recommended for using the data projector.

I got it. The projector can't get the image to be fully processed. Thus the icon with the image gets stuck and freezes. You can check using another projector.

You can try to fiddle with the Screen settings on your Windows XP machine.

You can do this by pressing right-click on your Desktop and then click Properties. Click on the Settings tab. You should see window 1 and 2 there. It could be that the monitor is currently extended into the secondary screen which is the LCD projector. To disable this, click window labeled 2 and then uncheck "Extend my Windows Desktop onto this Monitor". Apply settings and then test. Press CTRL+F5 or F8.

Canon LV 7215 lcd projector: border is not black it orange brown colored and causes contrast problems with picture

Well, this could be attributed to settings, although if you've messed around with the settings for a while to no avail it could be another problem. Unfortunately, without much in the way of details, I can only make one suggestion.
It could perhaps be that your bulb has burn in. This happens with projectors over time, especially if a single image is left on too long (ie computer desktop or ppt borders)
I've also noticed that the lense can become burned as well, over time. Don't ask me how that's possible as I don't know enough about projectors to accurately guess.
Try cleaning the lense for starters, then consider replacing the bulb if that doesn't work.  You should take it to the place you bought it and they can tell you more concretely what the problem might be.
Caid.

Problem with truncated image from data projector

You will need to setup the displays from the computer running the projector.

Setup the projector as being a second monitor pretty much and make the adjustments from that in display properties on your computer, or your video card may have it's own control panel for this as well.

Hope it helps =)

Hi Jess

Is your PC's image splitt ?

Right click on your desktop and go to properties - then click on settings and then advanced settings.

You'll see a block with two screens on it. If only one is activated - activate the secondary screen as well.

If you are using a Notebook also try holding in the Fn ( Function ) button - just left of your spacebar and in your F-row buttons at the top there should be one with two screens on it - Differs from brand to brand of PC's.

Hope this helps you !
