Question about Hampton Bay 52 In. Northport II Fan, BN
Purchased 4 of the Northport III units at Home Depot around July of 2007. The remote controls on 2 of the units have already stopped working. Tried new batteries but suspect the remote units have failed. Love the fans, but they are not very useful as they are. I am ready to return all 4 to HD. Suggestions?

mcdevito75 here, You say fan worked in the past, That tells me the fan has not run in over 1 month if so, try this. First, the fan motor is a sealed unit, without running the fan in over 1 month it may be a little stiuck, put the fan lights on, and pull the fan chain just once and turn the fan blades themselves just a little to get thm started. also verify fan switch itself is good, Chain switch should have the familiar click click to it. If not the fan swich could be bad.
