TI-84 Silver - Screen only works at certain places.

My TI-84 Silver calculator screen has parts that work and parts that don't. How can I make the whole screen work again?

Hello,
It may be a hardware problem, but there is apossibility that you have activated the Split screen feature.
[MODE] opens a configuration screen. At the bottom, (the last line) has [Full] [Horiz] and [G-T]. Full means screen is complete; Horiz means screen is split down the middle, horizontally in two; G-T mesn screen is split vertically in two; To the lesft is the Graphic screen, to the right is the table of values pertaining to the graph.

[MODE] DownArrow to last line, make sure that [Full] is highlighted.

Hope it helps.

My for the TI 84 Plus Silver Edition screen doesn't work. I changed he batteries including the back-up. The screen won't light up. I bought this calculator around 3 years ago.

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

If that doesn't work, remove all four AAA batteries. Press and hold the ON key for ten seconds. Replace the batteries.

If that doesn't fix it, please append a comment to this post and we'll go on from there.

My daughter broke the screen of her TI 84 Plus Silver Edition

Even if it were available from TI, the LCD screen is not generally repairable and is either an integrated part of the mainboard (hardwired) or is attached to the mainboard by a ribbon cable. Either way, desoldering and then resoldering is tough even if you own the equipment to do this kind of work. Next option: check eBay for another used calculator.

My TI-84 silver edition has frozen, It is stuck on the same screen and nothing appears when I hit buttons, it wont even turn off. When I remove the batteries and place them back in the same screen appears....

I had the same problem. I remove all four batteries and the battery backup that is underneath the little phillips screw in the battery compartment. I immediately replaced it and the other batteries and everything worked. FYI, others have called for keeping the batteries out for 8 hours.
