The needle POSSIBLY isn't seated properly or is bent. Most of the needles have a flat side that must be registered in the corresponding grove where it attaches. This can be a bit tricky to get it seated just right AND fully up into place.

Singer CG500 Needle hits the needle plate. Needle was replaced. Verified needle in correctly. Tried hand wheel - still hits. Machine has yet to be used!!

Unless you need all the bells and whistles to sew get you a pre-1930 treadle or handcrank. I have 2 electric Singers, 1947 model 66 and 1948 201-2 both with attachments. Also I have 1903 Singer handcrank made in Scotland. The plastic new one just don't have the ability to hang in there .... All my pre 1930 Singers sew... I love them!

Please help my throat plate[needle plate] is banging loudly..the faster I sew the louder it knocks[throat plate against its base]'s as if its too loose but see nowhere to tighten or screw it in...

I would like to help you but I do not know what model your machine is. Please answer this and I will try to help you. Knocking is usually lint built up under the throat plate and has to be removed to get it cleaned out.

The moment i'm starting to stitch the thread is getting cut please can u tell me what to do

Check to see if you have a burr in the needle hole of the throat plate. Take off the throat plate and use some fine sand paper with a toothpick and push it through and around it, while your throat plate is off, clean out that area where the feed dogs are with a toothbrush because normal cleaning does not do the job. Also make sure that your tension is set right, plus new needle, and NO old thread. I was stunned to find when I bought some thread on sale to find it was old stock and always broke on me, now I use it for hand basting, Now I know why is was so cheap. I hope that my suggestions help you,

I have a singer 14sh654 serger. Having trouble with the left needle thread tension disc, it seems to be stuck. Even when it is at 0 and presser foot up there is still too much tension on the thread. ...

Try cleaning the tension discs with a thicker piece of the thread knotted 3 or 4 times and running it back & forth through the discs because there could be lint stuck in there. You should do this at least once a month, alot of threads leave lint behind. Also, check your diffential, put it to neutral. If, that does not help, take it in for service before something breaks off.

I have a Singer 2517. The needle hits the plate, just misses the hole to connect with bobbin thread. Is there a fix?

Is your needle inserted all the way? Sometimes it is the simple things that are the problem. Do you have your manual? There is a site online that will let you download it for free.

How do I adjust the timing on my SINGER CG590C

If you have a zig-zag machine check to see if the needle is set to the correct position. If you are trying to zig-zag, be sure you have the wide holed throat plate on.
