The manual for the LG Vortex can be found here: http://www.verizonwireless.com/multimedia/mim/lg_vortex/vortex.pdf
If you go here: http://www.verizonwireless.com/lg-vortex.shtml you can find some other features Verizon has put together, like animated "how-tos" for basic tasks. Just click on "Explore" or "Simulator"
The white screen is most often caused by a defective "flex cable" (Connects the keypad section to the display section). When this happened to my girlfriends VX 8500 I found a new cable on eBay for $10 (came with screwdriver and opening tool) and replaced the cable and the issue was resolved. Hope this helps
I had the same problem and brought the phone to a Verizonwireless store. They replaced it under warranty and did not give us much of a hassle. My guess is that it is a common problem. (On a side note, if you take the battery off the sticker shows a field called H/W Rev. The old phone was 1.0 and the new one is 1.1 which further suggests that they have made hardware changes to solve this problem.)
Just log on to www.verizonwireless.com log in and you can activate the phone online. You cannot just swap the Sim card. If you have issues activating it online you can just call Verizon and have them activate the old phone.
